Re: PocketSpeedTest - test your internet speed

Dang, I get around 200 or less kbit/s. I have the leaked 6.1 ROM, rev-a enabled shows in data parameters and I have various registry tweaks. Any suggestions? :/

Re: PocketSpeedTest - test your internet speed

cool and quick little app, did several tests and got results that were slower when i was holding the device vs. setting it down and pushing start. Wasn't real scientific about it in regards to recording data but did seem quicker when just placed on the desk.

Re: PocketSpeedTest - test your internet speed

If you are running SPB GPRS Monitor, it may be slowing down your speeds:

My speeds tripled after uninstalling it.

Greetings. Yeah, i had noticed that a few months back. I had installed gprs monitor when the 5gb data cap rumor for sprint started making its rounds. I couldnt for the life of me figure out why my speeds got cut in half (i installed alot of stuff around then) but finally guessed right when i removed gprs monitor. Just a fyi, if you go back to an earlier version of the monitor, your speeds will be fine. dschoenike

Yup, and it's too bad the developers aren't actively trying to fix this.

Agreed. The newer version is nicer, but not "speeds cut in half" nice. I wonder if the current versions' issues are just cdma related, or across the board? Do you happen to know? dschoenike

I'm not sure if it's device or carrier specific, but I was getting 200kb/s with it and up to 600kb/s without it!

Same here. How'd you finally figure out that it was causing you the slow-down?

Google

I noticed on other forums that people with the same phones on the same network in the same area were getting way faster speeds and then I just started searching for reasons why my Rev. A speeds would be so slow and then I saw the SPB forum listing and it clicked that it was that particular program that was causing the problems.
