Understood, but then that's where having it turn on at a preset time to start recording would be handy. If it wakes up at 6am and starts recording Howard Stern, for example, by 6:30 when I get up and start running, I could start with a 30 minute buffer to prevent annoying outages. Or, if it recorded an hour, for example, I could listen to it any time during the day, if I wanted.

Try going into settings in the program and check turn off back light... and have 30 sec. That's what mine is set at and I rarely if ever have a problem.

Do you or has anyone had problems getting channel 19 to work? Mine says AC/DC radio, but they did that a long time ago. It should be The Bone now.

Been getting crashes per day as well as the "we're sorry" error message from the stream several times all randomly. I've enabled logging but I'm not seeing where the logs have been saved to (installed to my device). Wondering how many people are getting the same issues.

If you go into menu, settings, sirius and clear cache, upon startup next time you'll see boneyard and not AC/DC radio. I think those were the initial settings on the app and it's stored that way until you clear the cache. If you do a hard reset and reload the app it will revert back to AC/DC until you clear the cache again.

@Mrbook: I've been using the app daily and haven't had crashes with the exception of yesterday, but VZW was having major system issues and I think that was the problem.

Ok guys...this is the issue. I use to have an online acct with xm and now I don't since March of this year. XM now charges $2.95 to listen online now. It use to be that if you had an acct period, that you can listen online for free but now they charge. So they deleted my acct because of that and I can't listen to xm on my phone now. Is there a way around this? I know you guys would know. ;-D

There's no way around it I'm afraid, that made me mad as well when they started charging for online.

@Tokin, I'm currently using it on my Omnia i910, used it w/ stock 6.1, flashed 6.1 and 6.5 ROM's. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the Canadian subscription? Can you get it via internet on your computer?

Hi all,

I installed the app on my omnia i910 vz phone, it launches properly & logs me in, I see the channel listings, but I get unable to load channel when I try to launch a channel. I looked through all these posts, saw a bunch of you having the same issue, but apparently no actual course of action to fix the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)

I've been using it on my Omnia for months and the only issue I had was when my internet subscription ran out. Re-upped the subscription and it's been fine. Just tried it 2 minutes ago to see if it was still working and it's working perfectly on my TP2 and also on my Omnia. On the Omnia I've had Adryn's 6.1 and 6.5's and currently on BW's 6.5. Also had it on stock, and never a problem with any of them. Try dumping the cache and seeing if that helps. Also try checking or unchecking the sirius proxy in settings.

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)

I tried the proxy but didn't help.. I just cleared the cache and now I dont even have the channel listing anymore... I have also uninstalled from sd card and reinstalled to my storage to see if maybe it was something from that... I'll try some other stuff... and I have just paid for another year of sirius for my car last week so I'm not expired

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)

sirius used to be free steaming.. I just read it again and it wants me to pay $3 a month to stream online even on my computer... 14 isn't enough for them... thats the problem... thank god pandora is free /uninstall greedy corporate company...

w00t i cant believe sirius is outgunned in this by a DIY'er .. Their app for the ipod is laughable.. NO HOWARD STERN BECAUSE IT INFRINGES ON IN DEMAND?!!!?? This is amazing & sirius should pay you on the back end to add more and more features!

Capi -- any chance you might be willing/interested to put this app and it's source code into the public model, and set it up with Sourceforge?

There are several features that would be really cool (like recording/DVR capabilities), and I'd be happy to contribute as a developer.

I doubt he will be able to open source it, I talked to him about that a few months ago. It was his plan to release the code eventually but there are legal issue with doing so....

Recording would be great, but may not be possible with current WinMo phones. A phone wouldn't be able to run C-ApiSRO, the sirius/xm stream, record and encode/compress to a usable format. To make it possible it would have to use a very low data rate probably below AM Radio.

VERY COOL, never saw that. I used their Developers Audio Control and my phone pretty much locked up. I looks like they solved the issue, hopefully it is optimized enough to run under .NET. Good find Elmer....

Nope, definitely do-able.

CorePlayer does it flawlessly. Set up microdrive mode to buffer to an SD card, and you can pause and restart a streaming source without losing any program material, or audio quality. My guess is that they are simply buffering the raw stream, and keeping track of a playback pointer in the saved data.

With 16GB cards, there's no reason to compress as part of a "DVR" capability. Raw streams can be buffered for hours and hours without making a dent in the storage.

In fact, this is the reason months ago I suggested adding a local proxy source feature to C-apiSRO -- restream out a different port on the device, or even fake being localhost stream, so that any application could connect and then add it's functionality (filters, equalizers, buffering, etc.).

In this way, capi's application no longer needs to provide the UI and other functionality. It simply obtains the content, and brokers it to some other app to act as the UI and signal processor.

In this way one could use CorePlayer to get DVR-like features for talk streaming; Pocket Player can be used to apply filters, equalizer, and even fluff like visualizations while listening to music.

All "free" in terms of C-apiSRO development burden.

What about that, capi? Please, please, please? Pretty please?

That being said... it CAN be done. Looking forward to using the "record" function. Would LOVE to be able to pause and record Sirius, more specifically... Stern!

Well I love it, I got a friend who has a lifetime membership, he lets me use his name and password since Dec or Jan of 08, i was using the pc at work, then I got a mogul, then there was the WM5 player (ok, not great but ok) and then one of his players came out, no D-pad controls then but was so much better than WM5, and I have used it ever since. Thus the high data flow on my account!! He has made my days at work bearable and I will continue to beat the data side of my plan like it owes me money!!:headbang:

I had this issue since the last release and to day finally decided to tackle the issue. The channel I was missing was 65 BackSpin Old School Rap. It's simple. All you have to do is edit the xml file "channels" found under "Program Files\C-ApiSRO\Provider\XM" folder on your phone. If you don't have an xml editor, go here http://free.editix.com/download.html and find the right version for your computer's operating system. It's free.

Copy the channels file from your phone to your computer. Edit the file in editx to add the channel(s) you are missing. All I did was copy the info from a nearby channel, in my case Channel 66 Shade45. Paste the info in channel sequence and change the info of the line you copied to the correct info for your channel. Save the file then copy it to the "Program Files\C-ApiSRO\Provider\XM" folder.

I recommend you copy the original channels file to another folder in case
you didn't correctly input the info.

Enjoy
