New: Phone Skin (not eTen) & Carrier Logo

So everyone and their momma is using the eTen dialer skin and although it's really cool (especially the PaulyA skins) it suffers from some drawbacks:

(1) No SmartDial screen
(2) It "locks" your EvDO arrows. So althought you're EvDo turns on and off like it should, those data arrows are locked in whatever state they were in when you installed the eTen dialer. Mine were always "on" regardless if the connection was actually live or not. (They should have turned light grey when inactive.)

So here is a new solution that fixes these issues and still gives a nice skin.

Look below for Part 2: Changing your Carrier logo.

You MUST uninstall your eTen dialer first. Look under your Remove Programs to find it.
----------------------------------------------------------------

First, download the attached file zPhone.zip. In there is a .cab file you'll want to install.

It will create a folder called PhoneSkins on your device.

Choose either OrangePhoneSkin-WM5.zip or Vista Phonepad.zip and extract those files into the folder PhoneSkins. Copy over the images in the "New Images" folder and soft reset

Here is a pic of my phone with the Orange theme:

and here is the Vista (black) Theme:
Attached Files
File Type: zip vista_phonepad_167.zip (137.3 KB, 162 views) Click for barcode!
File Type: zip zphone_298.zip (107.3 KB, 193 views) Click for barcode!
File Type: zip orangephoneskin_wm5_425.zip (581.1 KB, 69 views) Click for barcode!

Part 2

Change your Carrier Logo!

You can't do this on the eTen skin as it'll just disappear.

Download the following image and save it to your \windows folder and soft reset:

It looks like this:

(See in my post above in the upper left hand corner of the dialer to see where it would go/look like)

Want to do your own? Just create a 110x20 gif file and name it carrierlogo.gif.

Those are the only two I'm aware of. Since they're brand new, it'll probably take awhile for others to come out.

I like 'em for their looks but also because of the aforementioned issues with eTen. Basically, I like having SmartDial back!

Just copy what's in the zip file to \PhoneSkin, overwriting any files.

OK, I was wrong. I installed this new skin with the vista phonepad and I like it alot. Also I copied the new sprint logo into windows and even deleted the old logo but it still shows 'sprint pcs' instead of the new one. Any suggestion?
