Opera Mini 4???

Is there a way to have a direct icon with this program? Or do we always have to open up that java deal first to get to it? I want to have a direct link!?

alright, i had to fight with this BS on my touch with the many flavors of java out there.

i found the java app in derek's rom best. It provided full screen for opera mini and it worked with the "quicklink hack" found here.

theres actually a couple different tricks to get this shortcut.
but i ended up using resco explorer to edit the shortcut properly, i couldnt create the shortcut and edit on my computer, the phone wouldnt recognize the shortcut variables. So i had to do all the shortcut editing on the phone. Have fun with frustration!

Stuck using Opera 9.5? Is it out already? Or are you talking about that crazy leaked version that came out a few weeks ago?

But yes, you can get it to work on the Touch, I actually have it on the cube and without asking all those crazy questions that it used to ask. It's a bit of a complicated procedure and it took quite a bit of trial and error to get it going.

If the link Torx didn't help you, you can try search the pdaphonehome.com forums for posts on Opera mini 4. Between all the posts I found over there, I figured it out.

why wouldn't i run Opera Mobile 8.65, instead of Opera Mini..
Is it because Opera Mobile downloads are only trial versions ?

I am trying to install opera mini but cant open the file to install it. I went to opera mini website and download it to my computer and to the phone. What do i need to open it and install it. I have DCD's wm 6.1. I dont know what i am doing wrong. Any help will be great. Thank you

Torx and ManuTouch gave you the answers. Go read those threads, and it will clear it up for you. When I setup OperaMini on my Touch, I just carefully followed the directions......it will work. Good luck.
