EDIT: Anyone installing this to their storage card? It happened to me last night while moving apps to the card, but I just uninstalled the older version of Google Maps, soft reset, ran SK Tools, soft reset, and then installed the new CAB and clearly specified to install Google Maps to the storage card.

It's still not doing it, it still gets installed on main memory? Anyone else experience this?

Don't know what they changed, I can tell you what they did not change. And that is the installation path issue.

It will still install to the device, even when selecting the card for installation.

Check first post for CAB.

you know what would be love from google maps?

the option for the new "Streets View" embedded in the app.
that would be AWESOME! but that would require some kind of builtin flash ability in google maps.

Live Search Directions get it wrong
 

The other day we were going to meet some friends for lunch. I was in a hurry and did't print out mapquest directions, but trusted the Live program to get it right.

It didn't, and it took us 45 minutes to get to a place that should've taken 20.... and the wife was NONE to happy about that. Almost threw the phone out of the car, and I can't blame her.

I still like LiveSearch, but won't trust it for directions when I have to get off the major highways.

Google maps: You must install a newer version...
 

anyone get that? just dled it yesterday and I get that error

Am running version 1.2.0.13 on my 700wx with no problems.

Can you tell us anything more? Where are you downloading the cab from?

I downloaded today straigt to the Mogul from google. No problems at all.

Google Maps Mobile v1.7.1.4 Released
 

A new version of Google Maps Mobile has been released. This one has new snazzy animations, including diamond drop animation, ala iPhone. Also when searching for directions, a directions overview window is now displayed, and when you the tap the diamond, there are more options available now.

location details do not show up when I click on one (a pin). The map dims and all elements go away but no info, whereas I'm thinking I should be seeing the address & number at this point. Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm on a 700wx btw. Animations are cool tho!

Odd...I downloaded the cab that is listed a few posts up and installed. Google lists the version as 1.2.0.13...and the date is from August.

HTC Touch won't install CAB file
 

I tried every which way from Sunday to install google maps. I click on the cab file and the screen seems to blink once, then nothing... Any help?

go to googlemaps on your browser on the phone and you can install it perhaps that way.
