best gps program

I need some advice. I have downloaded and installed google maps and live search on my mogul. However, which one do you guys think is the best. Also is there a gps program available that will give you voice directions like one of those tom tom gps devices.

thanks for the advice,

Re: best gps program

TeleNav has been good to me. Voice turn-by-turn, 3D Maps, find the cheapest gas, etc.

TeleNav via Sprint, which comes w/no extra charges if you have the right data plan. I love TeleNav.......

Re: best gps program

With google and live any time i plot directions i have to check the route because it gives me the "grand tour" i.e. i have a papa johns that a half mile from my home and google gives me a 3 mile route. I would like to try telenav though.

Re: best gps program

If you want something "like" a TomTom, you could get TomTom...for the PPC. It's not free like Google or Live but, as you can see,you get what you pay for. TomTom Naviagtor 6 runs around $100 and runs on most devices. I've been running it on a Treo 700wx but am moving next week to a Samsung i760 and am told it'll work.

TomTom link:

http://www.tomtom.com/products/categ...D=2&Language=4

BuyGPSNow link for $99.95 deal:

http://www.buygpsnow.com/tomtom-navi...anada-695.aspx

I was skeptical but I took the plunge after buying StreetAtlas for years and using Google and Live and always feeling like I didn't have a "real" GPS device.

Voice (but not street names), live traffic, etc.

So far so good.

Re: best gps program

Between live search and google map, i like google for navigational purposes and its satellite view is much better than Live Search's. Also i like google maps user interface. it is easy to navigate using gmaps. But i keep live search on my phone because it gives more accurate traffic details (gmap's traffic is an absolute joke) and gas prices (not a feature in gmaps) .

Re: best gps program

from what i read you shouldn't change the default gps settings on the mogul. under settings - external gps. the com port should be 4 and baud rate 4800. i have read in several forum not to change it. usually the external application use the same com port (but maybe a different baud rate). try putting com - port 4 and baud rate to 4800 on ur third party application
