I agree Draiko, my thoughts exactly. I got my invite to Skyfire 2 days ago and downloaded it immediately. While I'm getting faster page loads from Skyfire than I am with Opera Mobile 9.5. I'm using Opera Mobile 9.5 build 1660 and it has been the best so far, and I absolutely love the user interface on Opera, but having flash in my browser is totally cool. Zooming in and out on the Opera is the best I have seen outside of an iPhone. Also, not sure if this is normal, but when I am browsing with Skyfire and I answer an incoming call, after I hang up Skyfire says it's lost it's connection and closes. "Connection to Skyfire service was lost. You may be in an area of limited or no data coverage. Please check network coverage and try again" That is soooo gay. With Opera I can pick right back up where I left off.
Is that normal Skyfire operation?
I guess Skyfire needs constant communications with the network to remain active, even if your just reading an article. Also, I have been spoiled with the tabbed browsing of Opera 9.5, and not having it on Skyfire sux pretty bad. I also feel like the zoom feature, as Draiko mentioned, is poorly implemented on Skyfire, at least compared to Opera. When watching videos on YouTube or NFL.com or whereever I always have to zoom out several steps. I wished it were a bit more intuitive like Opera.
I like the SmartFit within Skyfire, but wish it would switch to that mode only once you zoomed in, the way Opera Mobile does.
I was just now switching between Opera Mobile 9.5 and Skyfire on nfl.com, and while it looks much more like the real web page on Skyfire, it's very buggy and has to update content all the time when spanning around the paged zoomed in, and often gets stuck. So that explains the longer page load times with Opera since it loads the whole page to your phone, while Skyfire only loads the portion you are looking at, at any giving moment.
I guess at this point I like them both for different reasons, but if I'm just reading articles Opera is the winner. I can't wait until Opera 9.51 comes out with integrated Flash.
