I upgraded to the new beta last night, played around with it a little bit and closed it out (wasn't running in task manager.)

Today, my battery went under 10% by 11:00am (took it off the charger at 06:00am). Normally I can go all day and it will only drop to 60 to 70%. The only thing that changed was my updating Skyfire.

Not sure if it was co-incidental or not. This is the first time that I've had my Treo (over a month) that my battery died that quickly without anything running.

I'll have to keep an eye on Skyfire.

Re: Skyfire Support

It's a known issue. They're supposed to be fixing it in the next release, according to the forums.

they know about the battery drain, but I wouldn't so much call it an "issue". it's caused by skyfire's need for a persistent data connection.

It's actually persistent data, in conjunction with the flash player. Apple had the option to include it with the iphone, but opted not to due to battery consumption.

Re: Skyfire Support

not to argue semantics, but the flash is rendered server side.
at any rate, see post #11 here (you'll have to log in first)

Re: Skyfire Support

They don't make good topics of discussion. They do make good adjectives, however. Finding certain combinations of letters offensive, for whatever strange reason, limits a conversation, IMO.

Re: Skyfire Support

Apparently Skyfire's finally gone to an open beta. Servers must be over loaded as I haven't been able to download the latest version from the site (v0.80)

Re: Skyfire Support

Well, this browser is really irritating me.

I just installed the latest version on my new phone setup. It DL'ed & installed just fine.

Now, when I try to start it up it tells me I entered an "invalid e-mail & password" (I have entered it about 20 times) The same email address & password log me in just fine at skyfire.com......
