not a problem. this is my fav im program. works like a champ. you can even minimize it and still get your messages.

it works okay... but I can't seem to put up an away message, or view anyones buddy info. In fact, when I go to view anyones it just closes the program and signs me off. I also can't adjust any sounds or anything.

the good part about this is that it can run in the background and not use SMS messages. so it's good for sending and receiving IMs on the go, but anything more than that, not so much.

can't load my screen name
 

I have installed and cannot load my screen name into the program. At the top right it has <new user>. and if you click on this it has a check box in the drop down menu and <new user>.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. I just selected stock quotes or news... then it asks for your sn and password. and you can just exit out of the stock quotes or news part.

Mucho thank u. Although it gives me an error now when you try to access news headlines or stocks. Says: "An unknown communications error occured"

I might have to second that comment you made 2 back.

AIM for PPC
 

Is this only AOL Instant Messenger or can you log into other programs as well (i.e. Yahoo IM)

NOTE TO USERS: You need to be logged in to sprints network by using pie to connect, or use wifi before trying to connect or use this, after you are connected open aol im, then click on stock quotes, from there enter your info. Click on the drop down arrow on the upper left side and click buddy list.

can you use this on PPC 6700?? everytime i open it, it gives me this message "AIM 4 PPC is not a valid Pocket PC application."

i use it on my ppc6700. try reinstalling it

try your computer. I believe you gotta install it from there.

Ok i got it to work for a few secondsthen it sign me off and i cant log back in its giving me a message " The session host was not found. Make sure you are connected to the internet and the host name is valid." :( any thoughts?

Make sure you are connected to internet prior to running the program.

you guys are not doing something right, it is working for me and everyone else just fine. install, make sure your are connected via your vision on sprint, or whatever you use on verizon, or via wifi. click stock updates, then click on the upper left drop down arrow and clcik buddy list. if this is'nt working, soft reset and try again. if it still does'nt work, then you got some corrupt files or somehting going on.

Damn JS28...nice freakin' find my man! No hitches, no glitches, no hangups or slows!

i re installed it now i got it to work thanks!... anyway how can i get the message to send without pressing send? is there option like just by pressing enter? thank btw i got ppc 6700.

nope, your gonna have to use your stylus, i made the rest easy for you by posting the file on here.

your welcome and yeah i wish you could just hit enter to send. maybe they will make a new one someday.

My problem with it recently developed.

I have the box checked to send messages with the return but recently that stopped working.

I suspect I ran a hack or something from another program which has disabled that feature. I know I tried X-Button, but that disabled the SIP keyboard entirely in AIM so I uninstalled that....I wonder if X-Button left something in the registry?

there is a hack version that lets you see the menus and read buddy info and away messages as well as setting up your own away messages. it was hacked for it to be able to run more stable on WM5. Ill post it in a lil bit....im tired...

Hmmm...I wonder if GAIM could be adapted for the Pocket PC.... :-k

Here's the hacked AIM for WM5 that lets you sign on from the start screen and also lets you press enter to send a message (have to activate this in preference first):

I had this working for a while now that i switch to AKU 3.5 i got th message that reads "an unknown communications error occured".... any one else have this problem?


edit* to anyone having the same problem make sure your not connected to your activesync ...:lol: :wink: ..its working fine now i also did the link from the above post and it has more option like away messages and i can finally just press enter key rather than pressing the send button wit my stylus!! gl :wink:

hey guys i have a question would they charge u for using windows messanger liveper text message

Everytime I try to log on, I get this error:

"The session has terminated because you signed on with this Screen Name at another location."

But I have not.. I've tried over and over with no luck... anyone have this problem before?

seems like alot of folks have been having this issue from time to time. i think it depends on which ROM's you guys are running. I have the standard Sprint ROM installed with no major mods and it works great for me.
