PIE 6.1 stripped 'n .cabbed

Thank RacerII & SH4YD33 for this

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365164

Not too much of a diff, you get zoom & thats about it, unless I missed something. Its stable on my Titan and all apps that rely on PIE work the same as always.

Now I still await for Windows Live 6.1 and the Threaded SMS to be .cabbed.
Patience is a virtue I guess..

Hmm I saw the folder he had that came with the .rar, I guess you can look for matching files in /windows and copy them into 1 spot on the SD card.

But since its in .cab form, it shows in the "Remove Programs list" so if there is a bug hiding in the grass you have a chance to fix it.

So far I threw everything I could think of at it (Weather Watcher, FVB, Flash, Uploads, Downloads, Engadget. etc.) & it didn't goof or turtle any more or less in it usual performance.

Still what may have been very smooth for me could be a nightmare for someone else...

It seems like most reviews of this, specifically in No2Chems ROM thread, say that this runs slower than PIE in WM6.

Still..I will decide that for myself.

On regular WM6.0: PIE6.1 runs at the same rate as the old PIE...

Now on his ROM, I can't say since I have yet to try it.

I just installed this to my Apache and runs fine. Although I don't see any difference between the 2.

To clarify, the reviews have said that 6.1 runs slower than 6.0. I could have worded that better.

I haven't tried this either...thinking about making the leap, but the PIE lag has got me thinking twice about it.

Does it matter if you install this on your storage card? Or is it better to install this on the actual device?

it needs to go on the device as it'll overwrite files that's in your Windows directory.

Thats what I figured but just thought I'd ask.

Edit: Installed it but is it slow and pages look worse in it for me. I guess I'll wait for the official release.
