LG Prada Plugin
 

Hi Folks,

Found this over on XDA, have it running on my HTC Touch with no problems so far and looks great! I only installed teh plugin as I have it positioned underneath the HTC home plugin - but you have the option of installing the spacer tool to push it to the bottom

Instructions as per referenced urls above are:
1. Remove the bottom bar:

Place dciNoBar.exe anywhere in the device & run, I recommend to place a shortcut in \windows\startup folder. This will remove the bottom bar like in the pic.

2. Install Spacer2 Today Plugin

3. Install LG_Today Buttons

4. Configue Spacer2 Plugin in \Settings\Today\Items, click on Spacer2 n click options. Adjust Spacer Height accordingly to move the plugin down to the bottom

fyi...spacer2 does not seeem to install for me. so I use my rltoday skin to adjust the height.

Can you add shortcuts to it yet?

nope,ive been running it on my mogul for ever and ive been trying different reg tweaks and editing the xml file but i cant seem to find out how to make shortcuts.
*update* im pretty sure it cannot be done, ive used an exe editor to edit the lgmenu.exe but it just errors out because its not a windows 32 app. so ill not give up...ill also attach the lgmenu.exe which is extracted from the cab in case anyone else wants to try...save the file as .exe( just delete the .zip)

If I knew how I would for sure! I hope some of the great minds here clue in and see what they can do.

yeah, it's too bad there's no customizer like HTC home has.....one thing I'd like to change on the today plugin is make the web icon go straight to IE, instead of the web menu.....it's just a wasted added step.

I Tryed installing and for some reason the exe in the start menu werks becuase i dont see the bottom taskbar( Messaging and Menu) and i install the cab ..even restart and the LG Prada menu dosnt come up on my today screen nor can i see it in the setting/today/items like it said...anyone got any ideas ?....

I can't get the spacer plugin to load for the life of me somone please help!!!

wont work on my 6700 not like im surprised if anyone has any success on the 6700 please let me know

im thinking the only device i know of that works with the spacer 2 plugin is th3e mogul...i havent had any trouble eith it.

I installed it yesterday on my 6700, works just fine. The today plugin will look similar to this:

How is it not working for you?

How is it not loading? make sure you go into settings/today then highlight the spacer plugin, then click on options to set the amount of pixels you want to space. I was using this along w/ HTC Home, so I had my pixels set at around 280.

Is it possible to move this to the top of the today screen, on top of the HTC Home plugin (I know the Date plugin is the only one that is on top of it currently)?

could it have to do with wm5...i install everything and its jstu a bhlak space i cant get Any buttons to appear or anythingg is there a theme or soemthing i ahve to put on

I can get it to the top, but not above Home, strange, it wont let me move it higher than Home in the settings. with Home unchecked, it is at the top.

u an only move things past home with htc customize app u have to unlock it then u can move it wherever u want to move it

I was tinkering in the registry and managed to get it on top of HTC Home.

Here are the settings for HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"LG Buttons":

Selectability DWORD value=2
Type DWORD value=5

Good find. Has anyone gotten this to work on a treo 700wx? if there was anything odd you had to do please tell. Thanks.

Is there any way to configure this? Half of the menu items don't work, which is annoying.

Same Question has aniione gotten this to werk n the treo..App looks niice... wouldnt myned seeing it on my 2day screen...... Any help with this??

if you havent already done so, install the spacer2 plugin. I'll attach the complete .zip. after install, u should see the plugin in your today items screen. make sure it is above the LG button plugin, and also hightlight it & click on options to set the amount of pixels to space.

i like this but it did not install all the way at the bottom of the screen. maybe 1/2 inch lost

you have to go into settings/personal/today & set the amount of pixels you want the spacer plugin to skip.

when i open "._dciNoBar" on my mogul, it says: "the file'._dciNoBar' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file." It is in my documents on the device. I have reinstalled it about 4 times, says the same thing every time. Any suggestions?

drop it in your /windows/startup folder and reset... tell us what happens afterward, should work then...

i put it in there, but nothing changed. My friend said that it might be the spacer. When i try to open that it flashes but goes back to file explorer. any ideas?

i'm not trying to be a smartass but your file is dciNoBar.exe, right? You kept referring to "._dciNoBar". If you run dciNoBar.exe, you may see a quick flicker, but when you close explorer & go back to today, the bottom bar should be gone. you dont have to reset.

i have the black bar in the middle of the screen...for some reason i cant get it to the bottom....spacer2 is installing. Furthermore , how can i get an all black background?

did you set the amount of pixels to "space" in the today options for the spacer2 plugin?

Doesn't work on the Treo 700wx. I'm guessing it's because of Palm's "special" tweaks to WM (I'm begining to like these "tweaks" less and less). Same reson we can't change our calc or dialer skins. With the tweak to remove the bottom bar all that happens is the bar is replaced by the answer or ignore bar that you get when you receive a call.

ive installed everything and its looking good, except i cant get the little icons on the bottom to dissapear, and the lg buttons dont cover them up. can someone help?

Anyone figured out how to custom link the buttons to apps of our choosing?

I have a different problem...I cannot change the spacer options.

It works the first time I try, but after a reset my device never allows the options to be changed...it's as though the file is corrupted. I tried to uninstall and reinstall spacer and it worked again (the first time) but subsequently it is as if I don't even have the spacer installed and I cannot change the options. :(

the program is not being "installed" when you run it.....you have to copy it to your /windows/startup folder, so it will run on bootup/reset.
