Slide2Unlock2 allows animations!! Post your animated Wallpapers

I am working on a few wallpapers for s2u2 myself

heres the software
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353008

** Has since been fixed***

TIP: for some reason A_C has direct draw enabled on the default install thus causing it to blackscreen. All you have to do is turn off direct draw in the reg. (as listed on xda)

Edit:This happens on the htc Mogul. To fix :
Quote:

Configuration: (in the Registry under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2.
Please remember to RESTART iLock2 after any registry settings changed, otherwise it won't work):

Quote:

DirectDraw=1
*** SET TO:
DirectDraw=0 ***

I haven't gotten a GIF to work yet, still trying. I am concentrating more on a cool clock right now, will post soon though!!!

omegax 12-20-2007 12:40 AM

all you do is add a wallpaper.gif to the gfx folder. then go into settings and enable it!!! Good luck to all.

Tried that, all I get is a black screen....one quick question though...is there a way of re-sizing .GIF files? I try, but it tells me it won't have animation after I save it.

Thanks

omegax 12-20-2007 10:44 AM

heh. Yes but you have to do it from photoshop or a program that supports animations. But you seriously cant get gifs to work?

go to S2U2 settings goto Wallpaper: File/Directory (Portrait) >>>>>> Change to option 2

Hit save

Then put a Wallpaper.gif In the folder \Program Files\S2U2\gfx\

This absolutely works!! Please select one of the animations I've posted. They 100% work.

Further more if you post the animation you want i'll try my best to resize it.
****Warning: if the original image is SMALLER then 240*320 the image will look horrible*****

EDIT:
I am sorry buddywiser your right. Last step go to start menu> programs> S2U2
select ilock2 (you'll get a popup) then select it again (no popup) and it has now refreshed the program.

buddywiser 12-20-2007 10:52 AM

Mine only worked after soft reset...did you try that?

A_C 12-20-2007 11:37 AM

or reshuffle omegax's steps:
1. copy Wallpaper.gif to \Program Files\S2U2\gfx\
2. start "s2u2 Settings.exe"
3. select 2nd option for Wallpaper (Portrait)
4. save
5. start S2U2

Enjoy!

After I saw the new S2U2 at XDA the other day I went on a hunt for animated GIF's. I found a lot of bouncing boobs and the like (which is nice but not something I want on my phone), but it took a lot of hunting through forums to find some other somewhat cool ones. I've attached a few in a zip file:

I was having a problem with S2U2 .95 not automatically locking when I turned the device off though. I'm sure I had all the correct options enabled. Maybe I'll try reinstalling, but for now I went back to .86. The animated GIFs seemed to slow things down a bit anyway.

henderjr 12-20-2007 11:46 AM

He might just have an old version of S2U2. Mine didn't have the options you spoke of. The version I had was .86 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343256. Did some googling and found version .95 from here http://www.freewareppc.com/download/...ies/s2u2.shtml. Works well for me. =D>

syrguy1969 12-20-2007 12:00 PM

I have tried resets (that has its own issues UGH!!!!), I will post one of the GIFs I am trying to use here, I will also try one of the ones posted here, maybe I am looking at the wrong ones...who knows. Thanks for the responses, I am sure I will get there!!!

P.S. on the last frame...can all the white text be removed? Leaving only a black screen and logo?

Thanks a lot for at least looking!!!!

syrguy1969 12-20-2007 12:04 PM

P.S.

Here are a couple others I have been looking at....see a pattern here? LOL

And one of my favorite programmers joins us. Welcome sir! :headbang:

syrguy1969 12-20-2007 04:29 PM

I can't believe I didn't notice!!!!

Welcome A_C!!!!!!

Now it is official....this site has it ALL!!!!!

on my GIF issue, I just noticed that I still have reg entries for a prior version. I wonder if I go in and delete that line if it is conflicting with this new version for GIF.

I have tried every way to install the animated .gif posted above (The Planet) & they are the correct size but s2u2 0.95 is just not recognizing it. I have the Sprint Touch & changed the registry for directdraw from 1 to 0 because I was getting the black/blank screen when I had first installed 0.95. Could that be the reason its not working?

omegax 12-20-2007 08:56 PM

No once you set it to zero it should work. I would Like to see an option where you can select the animation from ANY folder and ANY name as long as its a .gif

But as the software sits I can attest on my mogul it works great. The steps posted by A_C and myself work.. They just do.

Someone else with a touch please chime in and let me know if you've got it working.

A_C .. I Have had issues in the past where people couldnt change the wallpaper either. Is there any way you could incorporate a select image dialoge. Thanks!!

HEY CAN WE GET BACK TO POSTING ANIMATED WALLPAPERS!

Ya Boi D 12-20-2007 10:38 PM

I finally figured it out!!! I removed the original .jpg wallpapers that were in the gfx folder & deleted the .gif from the end of the Wallpaper & WallpaperL name while they were in the gfx folder, then I activated the .exe then ran s2u2 again & it WORKED! Apparently there is no specific order or direct way to get this to work. A_C , please include a wallpaper selection feature in your future release. That would make this PERFECT! Good work.

agfazio 12-20-2007 11:42 PM

I cant change any settings. I uninstalled s2u2 .86 and installed .95.

I only get a black screen that is a @*#&$^ to get out of.

Help a noob please....

omegax 12-21-2007 01:36 AM

I would love to help you.. Oh wait I answered your question on POST #1

Can someone resize this one for me so that smile is in the middle and not covered up by the time? Thanks.

xweaponx 01-07-2008 05:39 PM

I will try to resize it for you. Do you want it placed a little lower on the Slide2Unlock screen so that the time, etc is above and it just misses the froggie?

redifrogger 01-07-2008 05:46 PM

Yes - that would be awesome - so you can see the frogs head. thanks alot!

xweaponx 01-07-2008 05:58 PM

Would these work? I have them saved as wallpaper.jpg and wallpaperL.jpg. If they will fit the bill, simply drop them in and allow them to overwrite the existing.

If this is not what you were looking for, let me know.

redifrogger 01-08-2008 11:42 AM

That's great except for 1 thing I should have mentioned. I have a Treo 700wx, so the screen is 240x240. Right now the frog is cut off at the bottom - there is some room between the date and the frogs head that you can move him up some. Thanks a TON for your help with this xweaponx.

Ah... 240 x 240...

Ok. Let me redraw... Here is 240x240. Do you need a buffer at the bottom?

Also, if you need further assistance, PM so we can keep this thread clear for original discussion. ;-)

Joeriginal 01-08-2008 03:48 PM

How do you get the slide screen to show up after you turn the screen off, what setting is it.
