TV Guide

I have comcast basic with the very poor guide channel that takes forever to go through the menu. Found this:

m.tvguide.com

that has the basic what showing now, that works on my ppc and its free. anything better out there for mobile without a fee?

Pretty nice interface for ppc.

Would like to see original air-date on programs. But for a freebie, its pretty good.

Looks good...I will have to bookmark it on my Treo. What I am really looking for is an app to do this, but most of them you pay for the data site (I already pay for a data plan, that just seems redundant to me), or just don't work.

I'll check this out...thanks!!

Looks like you have to sign up for a subscription to use, unless I am seing something wrong. Here is what install instructions say:
Quote:

Before you can use the program, you must setup an account at Schedules Direct. This is what allows the program to get the actual listing data.

Be sure to remember your username and password.

That subscription is $20 a year

syrguy1969 12-18-2007 03:18 PM

You are correct. I did find another site that links back to that app instructing us to sign up on a FREE site: http://www.zap2it.com/ , but when you run WEBlink, you can't use the free site (at least I can't find a way).

If anyone can figure it out, I would love this!!!!

(I will post the site I saw this on tonight when I get home on my own PC!!!)

PTVL was a free service but now costs $20/year. If you're interested in TV schedules, this is the program that will do it best.

syrguy1969 12-18-2007 04:38 PM

It isn't the app that costs, that is free, it is the data download you need a subscription for. The zap2it site (I will post the site stating this tonight) is supposed to be able to sync the data for free.

Here is one I found over at TreoCentral, I installed it, but it takes an act of congress to open, and does have limitations (only new episodes), I thought you guys would want to check it out (if you haven't seen it already):

Here is the site I was talking about before, saying we can use PTVL with a free data site zap2it. In a lot of reading I found out this was the original setup until zap2it stopped working and they switched to the pay site SchedulesDirect. Zap2it is working again, and if someone can figure out how to use the data frrde in PTVL again, we will be good to go!!!!
