syrguy1969, I got your message over at TC and sent you a reply, but it looks like you figured it out.

Back when I used it, the service was free but I guess they changed it.

It's not as feature packed, but there is a freeware app that downloads TV data OTA (linked below). The downside is that it only does certain channels.

I actually have this on my device currently. I have found a couple issues though. I can't get the reminders to work, and it is a bear to open at times!!!!

Thanks for the response (both actually). I am still looking (isn't that half the fun??), and will see if anything pops up!!!

Thanks again!!

I should have read as I see you already mentioned TV2Nite.

You might try looking for an older version of PTVL that used the zap2it listings and see if it will work.

Here is a link to the old ptvl download page with instructions on the free zap2it subscription (compliments of archive.org)

http://web.archive.org/web/200702031...oft.com/dl.htm

However, they referred to labs.zap2it.com which doesn't work any longer.

SOOOOOOOo close....I downloaded the older version you posted, and it all looked good until I tried to update!! It automatically upgrades to the newer version before it allows updating....right back to square one. Thanks a lot though, that was a good idea!!

As for loading, yeah Java's like that. But if you have it running on a schedule (like while you're asleep) then you only need to open your calendar to see what's on ;)

OK....I see what you mean about the reminders and I will try it!!!

Now....for the loading...are you saying I open java, then tv2nite like I am checking the schedule, and then leave it like that all night? How long would it need to update idealy? I think I see what you mean, and I am already thinking of the when/how!!!!!!

BTW....GREAT app....I am very impressed with the graphics, and the usage is pretty easy to get the hang of!!!!!

Thanks for all the work on it. What do you think (if your even continuing work on it) the chances are of eventually not needing the java app, and having it in a CAB file? I think you would get quite the demand for a quality app like that (not that you don't now)!!!!!

It took a little bit (I am not too familiar with most of what this took), but I think I got it. I finally got the shortcut correct, but the app seems to stop running occasionally, so I have to refresh it in the java app. I will see how it goes...thanks for the info!!

Found another website that looks decent and loads well in Opera for tv listings. You can set your zip code and then save it as a bookmark...
