Hannip post from the ad2p thread
It's a hardware issue with the treo. Here is a description from the JETware delveloper that investigated it. "Q: Why can?t I get the ?Voice dialing? option to work on my Treo 700w? I installed Voice Command but it still uses the Treo microphone and speaker for Voice Command. A: The Bluetooth hardware in the Treo 700w is wired directly into the cellular radio hardware such that audio from the Bluetooth hands-free device microphone goes directly to the cellular radio, and only the cellular radio can provide audio to the Bluetooth hands-free device speaker. This does not allow the Bluetooth audio connection to be established prior to a phone call to take audio input from the Bluetooth microphone for a voice-dial application on the phone to interpret. We have, however, had customers report that the microphone sensitivity on the Treo allows the Treo to be placed on the dashboard, for example, and with the addition of voice software such as Microsoft Voice Command, perform voice dialing initiated by pressing the voice-dial button on the Bluetooth hands-free device (but with the voice input going from the Treo microphone to Voice Command, and Voice Command responses come through the Treo speaker." Treo,
This is the same crap explanation they tried to give as to why we could not get Caller ID announement over our BT headset.. although they did go even farther by saying there is only one audio path that sends and receives.. blah blah blah. As I have found they are full of SLACK! :) If you have .NET 2.0 installed on your phone I'm pretty sure we can get this to work. Give me some time here and your help with debuging it (I don't have the Treo and I can't test BT thru the emulator) and I'm sure we can get this working. Already I know a way to make it work! It was the first sample I made for the ppc. I don't know what time it is where you are, but let me get the kids settled and I'll make the program and send it to you, or post it here for a test run. We will get it figured out! |
and I'm sure I know some treo folks will LOVE YOU if you fix this one. :D

Ok! I have my first ever Treo application ready! I just need 1 more bit of info before I make an installer.
Do you Treo users have a place where you can go to END PROCESS? Actaully, it won't matter, I will just make the installer not put it in your start menu so if something locks up you can just reset your phone. Should work good though.. If it does not I will be very surpised. Let me make the installer and zip it up, and I will post it VERY soon. I have a little bit of time to night to work on this, so if this works, I will then be able to give you guys your audio gateway to your BT headset as well. Here for hoping! |
Treo Caller ID Transfer
Here we go Treo Users! Well, atleast I can say it is a start. From what I see it should work. Just unzip the file, put the .CAB on your phone and run it. As I say, I don't have a Treo on me to test this, but the logic should be good. Tell me ANY errors you get and I try again.
** This one didn't work, Scroll down for latestest *** |
The cab will not install on my 700wx

Big D5,
Problem maybe that I made this for a SMARTPHONE... is that what the Treo is? Well, let me do this, I will make a different version right now. Let's test the next one and see if we have any success. Coming right up! |
