Anybody know where I can get a good quality one...preferably for free?

Nothing really has the range to be a true universal remote replacement, because the built-in IR port on the 6700 isn't designed for this use... (Hardware issue) Other than the novelty, I would not bother... (You can likely just get demo/expireware versions to test your environment, and be satisfied by the end of your testing that you conquered the technological challenge...)

I'm just looking for something for my own personal bedroom cause I can't stand when my girlfriend has the remote. I'm subjected to the worst television programming.

Like the other poster said, the range is very poor. I played with this on a PPC6700, you have to be around 3 to 6 feet from the device you are controlling. Its quicker to take 2 steps forward and push the button on the device itself. Just my opinion. The 2 programs I tried were Novii Remote and Pocket TV Remote.

Anoter option is slingbox and the sling for pocket pc software. It works as the remote as well as having your home tv anywhere you go. I have like 300 channels anywhere I go and the remote as well.

Re: Tv Remote Control??

I miss this myself, one of the old PocketPC ipaqs (PDA no phone) I had came with a long range IR port, used to be great at bars, just pull out my PDA and change the channels on the TVs....awsome.

My digital cable box has no buttons on it. I lost the remote. Then spent several hours online looking for what I assumed would be a simple solution to turn it on.
