I just saw this on engadget. I hope that someone can put this into a fully function version for all us stuck in the single touch world

I'm not trying to flame or hate but i just don't see the point. I can do everything I've ever needed to with 1 hand (holding the device and using that hands thumb). y should i move my phone to the other hand or set it down somewhere just to do a pinch gesture? its awesome that we CAN do this (because some people will use it) but it seems like an inconvenience 2 me. just my 2 cents

i see it as the more features the better.

definitely true

multi-touch would be amazing!
ESPECIALLY on screens which weren't designed to react as such

I think that the idea is WAY awesome! Having an Ipod touch I can tell you that there are some cook perks to having this work...Is it necessary? No. But it would be cool to have some apps that use this.

Update:
Someone else over at xda is creating a app that you could just install that will get multitouch working on your Touch Pro 2's. Here's the link to it.

Absolutely right. If you poke a resistive screen in two spots at the same time, all you are doing (or as the device sees it anyway) is poking the screen in the center of those two spots. Multitouch, while it is a cool novelty, is completely worthless, in my opinion, LOL! IMO!

did you see this link I posted. multitouch is NOT worthless at all. everybody knows the zoombar on the touch pro 2 sucks and with multitouch working pinch to zoom works well. check the video and the link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699596 and you could see what I mean.

In Opera Mobile ten, it only takes a single hand and a single tap to zoom in. ☺
