Aim mobile popup notifications

Just started using AIM Mobile on silence 6.5 on an HTC touch pro 2 and im having an issue i cant seem to get resolved. The program works flawlessly, however, when i dont have it open (ie, minimized) i recieve a popup notification for every message i get. I multitask often, so recieving a popup each time somebody on the other end hits enter, resulting in me having to dismiss the notification before getting back to the program im working in, is very annoying. Turning off all notifications in the sounds and notifications tab of WM did nothin, and turning off notifications in AIM stopped the notifications, but also stopped playing the message recieved sound. What id LIKE, is it recieve a notification icon in the taskbar, just like i get now, but NOT get the popup notification. that way i can see ive recieved a message by the icon on the taskbar, but not be interrupted in whatever program im currently using. Ive searched and cant find a solution to this, any ideas?
