Barnes & Noble eReader from OMarket
I just installed the Barnes & Noble eReader from OMarket on my Touch Pro 2.
It looks nice. Unfortunately, I can't actually read books on it. When I open a book, I just get a blank screen and the page-turning gesture does nothing. Has anyone had success with this? If so, have you found a way to add .epub books from external sources? |

Nobody?
I did get it so I could read books (dumb error on my part: I was swiping in the wrong direction for the page-turn gesture to work). The problem remains that thus far I've only been able to get it to recognize books downloaded from B&N. That's a deal-killer for me, since there's no way I'm going to keep a program loaded that will only read books from one source. It is otherwise a fairly nice reader and does a good job of rendering pages in a readable and attractive way. |

Here is the Barnes and Nobel app/cab ripped from the HD2. Runs excelent on TP2, it runs verticly and in landscape mode.
I have attempted to install older Barnes & Noble app cabs that came with older builds(roms) to no avail. They would not istall properly or work in the past, but this one does. Here are some pics for a better idea of what the app looks like. If your running the Ereader tab/sence 2.5 rom on your device, the app runs and is compatible with Ereader tab library view. Additionaly if you dont have the Ereader tab, or prefer not to run it you can use the app as a stand alone app(very convinient for B&N ebook readers). Here is a link for more information regarding the upcoming cab for Windows Mobile app store, but I checked this morning and it was not available yet so if you cant wait on the app store here you go. http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=14563&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm _campaign=Feed%3A+WmPowerUser+%28WM+Power+User%29& utm_content=Twitter Great link over at XDA-Dev, user PatCat007 (thanks) for the great work(download 300 books from Epub) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=635947 Screen shots: http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Screen05-1.png http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...6/Screen01.png http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Screen02-3.png http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Screen06-1.png ENJOY! |
Re: Barnes & Noble eReader from OMarket
Will the B&N eReader sync with epub books that I already have. and if so do they need to be stored in a specific location on my phone in order for the program to find them, or will it only sync with books that you buy/download from B&N?

In my installation, at least, the library updater utility that people use with the tabbed reader does not seem to find any books that haven't been downloaded directly from B&N. |

I am currently not running the Ereader tab on my devices current rom, but I will see what I can do. I think there is a fix for all this. Quote:
Gotta say though its better than where this was about 3 months ago. The app would not even luanch on my TP2. http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Screen05-3.png http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Screen03-3.png http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Screen04-1.png |

Not every bookstore that starts with "B" is the same thing. There are at least three applications called eReader - another is the former Palm, later Peanut Press, one also from Barnes and Noble. |
