I misunderstood Improve - I thought he was able to get books downloaded onto the Storage Card, but after closer inspection, he was able to do was I was, that is, install the reader onto the storage card, but the program creates the folder in the device Program Files...... would be nice to be able to put the library on the card instead of the device....can't have too many books on the device! :disgust: Here's the quote I was talking about:

The way I tried is I installed the app on my storage card so that folder was under Storage>Program Files> BN eReader. Then from my start menu I luanched B&N and downloaded one of their free books "Pride and Prejudice" (as you can see in the pics I posted, works great). This Download created a new file and path in; My Device>Program Files>BN eReader>Books. So as is plain to see the new book I just downloaded got stored there,

Improve, I'll be glad if you can figure this out!

I wasn't able to install directly to my storage card, but after I installed the program to my device I cut and pasted the BN eReader folder to my storage card and updated the shortcut in the start menu. Everything works fine, and downloaded books are being stored on my storage card. I just verified that there is no sign of the BN folder in my phone's memory anymore.

I have Freda, too. I don't see how this answers the questions about the B&N eReader, though.

I've tried µBook. Talk about sucking ass. It also does not render .epub files.

Turns out there are other threads about ebook readers in general but that this thread is actually about one particular ebook reader and some specific questions about it.

Ubook is old and terrible. It reads some ancient file types that aren't even used anymore, but not .epub or .lit, making it useless imo.

The B&N reader is really sweet, and once you install Calibre on your pc you can get all your books under one roof:)

Have you figured out a way to get B & N ereader to recognize files that don't come from them? I have a bunch of files from fictionwise/ereader.com and line the B & N interface butter than the ereader.com interface, but haven't been able to get the software to recognize them. thanks.

No, which makes it useless. There's no way I'm going to use an ereader that will only handle books from one source.
