04/15/2010 New Build Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
2 Attachment(s)
I see there are a couple of posts about this in the TP2 section- so if any moderators want to delete this thread feel free. But since not everyone owns a TP2 here ya go.
Slacker released a mobile client for WinMo you can download here... http://www.slacker.com/everywhere/mobile/windows/ Giving credit to AcidBath over at XDA for the discovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...77#post5974519 I know there were some problems with the one posted a while back. The UI on this version is pretty darn good. Although I did not have a bunch of success at streaming music. Edit: 04/15/2010 New Build of Slacker Radio. Build Number 1.0.148 There is a new UPLOAD LOG feature, which uploads your data/changes to slacker Radio. Please report any other changes... |
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
I've seen this already on the TP2 section but thought I'd say thanks to you for taking the time to post it on the software section :) to anyone wondering if this application is good, it is truly amazing! great sound and what now, great UI... I LOVE it.

Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
thanks bout to try this now
|
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
It also works ok on VGA although the pause skip love ban,etc cant be seen on screen. Still a good reason to get rid of pandora
|
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
Nice to see an official release, I've been using the leaked version for several months.
Edit - damn it, it's still WVGA only. WVGA is nice, don't get me wrong, but most phones use a lower resolution. Maybe now that it's officially out someone can port it to WQVGA though. I've tried, unsuccessfully, in the past. |
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
a vga port would rock...still very useable
|
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
I love it on my touch pro, vga support would be nice though. I normally push down 2x to pause, 3x to skip, kind of a pain but do-able

Slacker owns.

Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
does anyone else have the bug where the song will randomly stop playing? I have been dealing with this since the fixed version came along, and it still persists with the official release. could it be the Mighty ROM?
|
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
I think it's really just people losing their internet connection. I never have this problem on WiFi, only when using 3G, and it typically happens shortly after I've driven through a bad-reception area.

Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
Sounds good. Thanks to maisonpulaski and AcidBath.
Anybody know if this works well on a factory TP2 for Verizon? Installed Slacker- works like a charm! Graphics are clear and crisp. Tracks change flawlessly. Pandora who??? Thanks again! |
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
greatness all around. just switched to slacker from pandora thanks to this!
It does indeed work with factory Verizon! |
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
I'm glad you all love it, Do you guys have that issue though were it seems to stop during songs for no reason? if you guys want a better experience though, paying a sub, makes it more fun! unlimited skipping :D

I have ran it thru my sprint connection and thru wifi, it still stops mid song, I will stick with pandora. |

I listened for 3 hours- one hour while also websurfing on Skyfire. Maybe 2 stopped songs... tops. During that time I was on the subway though and my Skyfire acted a little funky as well. I attribute that to a weak signal travelling through stations. Text messages, e-mails, etc all came through without hangups. IMO- definitely better than Pandora. |
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
Am I the only one missing all the nav controls now with the official version? I have no track skip or anything. I am running the version from slackers site. Which is the same version posted here.

Hey badb4c, I'm not sure what can be wrong but... try uninstalling the current version you have installed and download the cab i posted and installed then to device, if it still refuses to work, just try giving your device a hard reset and do a fresh install upon a boot and see if it works :)
*my advise might just be useless* |
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
That one looks the same. I actually did a hard reset yesterday and it looked like this pre and post hard reset. The wonky part is the unofficial one used to display correctly until I installed the official one. Thanks though.

Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
Anybody know how to hardware map buttons to play/pause or skip because on the tp the app is too big and the touch screen controls are impossible to see let alone tap.
|
Re: Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
If you have a D-Pad, you can actually get to the buttons. If you touch the album art, it shows the lyrics, then hit "now playing", then press right on the D-Pad 3 times, it puts the "cursor" on the "skip" button. Pressing right only twice puts it on pause. If you don't touch the art first, and just use the D-pad, I think it pretty much always puts the "cursor" on the "ban" button. Hope this helps.

Re: 04/15/2010 New Build Slacker Radio Released by Slacker for WinMo
Badb4c... I was correct, if you had taken the time to what i said before. I will quote it.
"did you by any chance install a font mod." I installed the cab myself, rebooted, opened up slacker on my paperweight TP2 ;) I played a station. BINGO! I noticed that this font cab is the reason. If you want to get the buttons to skip,ban,fav,ect.... uninstall the cab other wise try contacting godzson but I doubt he will work on this for you but you never know! till then uninstall the cab and enjoy the application, thanks. hit thanks for me if you'd like. - Phillip |
