HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
Here is the latest HTC eReader, I'm posting this for you guys. In replacement of a users previous contribution which seemed to me like an attempt to redirect users to a different forum
So here it is, I don't car if you share it re-post it take it from A to B or even link back here. i don't care about "download tracking" nor do i care if you mirror or rehost some where else. No need to leave the site and register elsewhere to get this cab. That's just ridiculous to contribute here to redirect some where else to register to get it. All i did was cab it it was nothing Epic, Nothing hard, and no need for a pat on the back or track downloads to appease my ego. Enjoy. I have placed the shortcut under Start > Multimedia Feel Free to move the shortcut or edit the cab. I have set up the Icon skin for this location and in the root of start. This version allows for Adobe and Borders account login and linking. indagroove wants to be credited for the original idea, and will be. So thanks for the idea, sincerely. :headbang: Also thanks for the "sudo" sharing here i guess  However you can still get my version below, free of registration and hoop jumping. See Image for included free eBooks |

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
Well, we knew clever developers would find a way to get the HTC Sense 2.5 eReader tab, from the leaked T-Mobile US HD2 ROM, onto current devices. They've done that already with custom ROMs and we figured it would eventually be installable with a CAB, but most expected it to come in the form of a tab add-on. Indagroove, on the other hand, has created a CAB that will install it as a standalone app, which I think makes much more sense. This means users can run it only when they need to use it and even better, you don’t need to have Sense 2.5 enabled to access your favorite eBookshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif anymore.

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
Hi,
Thank you for sharing the cab file. The cab setup was installed on my touch HD properly. However when I tried to run the app, it shows the certificate error. Does anyone knows how to fix this problem? Thanx. Touch HD, original Rom WM6.1 NL Edit: Installed the new book library, which works fine. However when I tap on a book, the reader won't start. |

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Windows Mobile; WCE; Opera Mobi/WMD-50369; U; en) Presto/2.4.13 Version/10.00)
I only get that htclist error when I dont soft reset Right after I install. My biggest problem is when the app is up and I see the books. I click them but the books dont open. Even adding books (using eBooks Indexer cab 0.4) I can only see the title and pictures but bit wont ever open the actual book. I never tried the other ereader yet so ill try that next..but since this is a later version I would like to try it out...any ideason why books wont open? also tried with and without TF3D/Sense on and also redownloaded and reinstalled 4 times. Also cleared RAM using htcaddictcleaner. |

I have tried intalling this onto my Imagio, no luck and i have tried several different ways. I get the message that HTCeReader.exe is not a valid ppc program. I have also noticed that no folders that the cab setup file lists have even been made? Any ideas to get this baby loaded?

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
There is a version over in the Imagio forum that is working perfectly for me. It is inagroove's version modified by jmart518.

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
Thanks Keithdupont for the link to the modded eReader, it's the only one I've found that works.
However there is a strange side effect which breaks a function in the Calendar on my HD2. Trying to set the time for appointments in the Calendar no longer functions (not possible to scroll through the times - infact the graphics have changed and appear flat now opposed to the normal 3D look). Does anyone know why this has happened or a fix to correct it? Removing the CAB does resolve the issue but quite like the eReader and am hoping someone knows how to fix the problem. My ROM: 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE Manila version: 2.5.19211619.0 |

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
I am currently now using a NRG rom with ebook cooked in as a tab BUT it only allows for 20 books. Does anyone know how to change this to unlimited?

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
Sorry if this is the noobiest question ever, but I tried putting the .cab on my storage card. When I get on my phone and try to click on it, it says "There is no application associated with "HTC Reader 1.0" Run the application first, then open this file from within the application".... Then I noticed that you said you "placed the shortcut under Start > Multimedia".... so tried to find a "Multimedia folder on my TP2 from my computer in order to put the .cab there. Couldn't find it. Could you tell me step by step what I should do? Again, sorry if this question is really nooby.

The error you're getting sounds more like you're trying to run a program from a link and the link is broken. As I read it, it sounds as if whoever cabbed up the program set it to place a link in the Start menu in the Multimedia folder. You'll just need to tap Start then look through to see if you now have a folder called Multimedia. If so, tap that and you should see a link to the reader. If I misunderstood what you said, you may need to place the link manually. In order to put a link/shortcut in a folder, that folder must first exist. If it doesn't, you can easily create it. The Start menu folders are located on the device (not the storage card) under \windows\start menu\programs. Grab a file manager (Total Commander, which is free, Resco, whatever) and navigate there. If the folder Multimedia doesn't exist, create it. Then go to your link and move or copy it to within that folder. You'll then be able to select it from the Start menu. The file manager should also let you check the link to ensure that whatever it's pointing to is actually there. You can then either move files or correct the link to fix it. My guess is that if you install to the device memory, the link will likely work. |
