Is there way to make WeatherPanel update daily?

like once a day at a certain time. The max that is allowed is 6 hours, is there a way to change this to a certain time each day, or even better when the phone is turned on or reset?

Uhmm I don't really know if that's something that can be changed on the registry or something in the code. storyr would probably know...

You can always set WP not to update automatically and then you can manually update it every morning or whatever.

Why would you only want to update once a day?

Don't really care about the weather throughout the day, just when I get up in the morning. I wouldn't updated once every 3 or 4 days, if its future forecasts weren't sometimes wrong. Also, by having it update every few hours, wouldn't that run your battery down faster?

You know I have WP set to update every two hours and grab a couple radar images. Honestly, you'll never notice any battery drain. The data connection lasts maybe 10-15 seconds and that's with the images. So don't fret about battery drain.

Coz

OK, was just wondering.

I like to know the current weather/temp so I update every 30 Min's. I also update 3 radar images. I have not been able to tell a difference in battery performance.

I had weather panel set to update every 30 minutes or so and it drained my battery very quickly. Are you doing something to get weather panel to close the data connection once it's established? It's not the actual WP download that drains the battery, it's the lingering data connection that won't close on it's own for an hour or two...at least that's what I found.

No I don't close the connection. It almost runs continually.
Now you bring up a good point. If I closed it I wonder what my battery life would be. Right now it goes from 100% at 6:30am to about 20% at 10:00pm. However this can change base on what I'm doing with my device.

First thing...turn off your keyboard lights and dim your screen. These are both battery killas!
