Re: Any WM software to stream this particular radio station?
I tired it on Kinoma for you (which pulls their listings from tuned.mobi) A lot of their nationally syndicated shows may be accessible via the stream from another station though. I'm in Alabama, but routinely listen to some nationally-syndicated sports shows from a station coming out of Texas because my station's stream only streams their local shows and has dead-air for the syndicated shows.

I want that station's stream for their local programming -- not the nationally-syndicated stuff. WAJR is in Morgantown, WV where West Virginia University in located. WAJR serves as the flagship station for all Mountaineer Sports programming, so that's the stuff I'm really after! If WAJR's stream could be played over Windows Media Player, I'd be in good shape. I think it's the fact that they're doing it through this "liquidcompass.net" that's giving me the problem that I don't have an answer for ![]() |

Re: Any WM software to stream this particular radio station?
Have you tried a media player like TCPMP or Pocket Player? Here's what PP says:
>>>>> Pocket Player can stream Internet radio from any MP3 (Shoutcast), Ogg (Icecast), or ASX (Windows Media) source. Use the Menu > Open > URL from the main screen to directly enter a URL for streaming. Alternatively, the media browser features a Web Guide command that links to several Internet radio directories as well as a searchable list o Shoutcast stations and genres. Note that desktop Internet radio station websites that use a Flash‐based player will not work when entered into Pocket Player. The Open URL screen expects to receive the direct URL to the radio stream, which is usually hidden from such sites. <<<<< Since you had success with TP, the Flash warning seems to not apply, unless the ROM you had happens to somehow provide Flash support. Anway, PP has a 30 day free trial version ($20 to purchase) here: http://www.conduits.com/products/player/download.asp |

As far as I know, the WAJR radio stream does NOT use a Flash-based player, because like I said, I was able to access it on my old Touch Pro through NFSFAN's custom-version of Opera 9.5 which -- to my knowledge -- has no Flash support. |

So, 1. How did you get the url? 2. How did it work in previous phones you had? |

You lost me on the "actual pls" and editing through Notepad to get an actual URL that WILL play in the above software. Are you saying that the URL I copied isn't the "actual" URL? Is there some "hidden URL" that if I'm able to extract will play in WMP or any of this other software? If so, that sounds like the answer. Just don't know how to get to it! Oh, and as far as how I got it to play on my old TP, I'm not certain. Was running NFSFAN's Rom and his custom build of Opera and it opened the link in WMP on that. No idea how however ![]() Last edited by EngravEER; 02-03-2010 at 02:38 AM. |

Tap ^ (lower right corner on my old v9.5), then Settings, Advanced, and you should see a checkbox to Enable JavaScript. This may require closing Opera and re-starting. Last edited by MrGoodtunes; 02-03-2010 at 04:59 PM. |

A pls is basically a playlist with url listed within. You can see the urls contained in any pls by opening the pls with notepad or any other text editor. There have been some streams that I could not get. I contacted the site provider, explained what I needed and for what, and they provided me with the pls. You may want to try that. Try wajr@wvradio.com. |
