Wifi air sniffing - "Promiscuous mode"?

Hello!

I have searched google extensively, and failed to find an air sniffer that would work on my HTC tytn2 (Kaiser).

Air sniffers such as "Handy Sniffer", "Airscanner mobile sniffer", and "vxSniffer" simply do not work. I could be doing something wrong, but as far as I tested they only collected packets when connected to the specified wifi network (and hence know the key). I am looking for something that lets you collect Encrpted packets, for import into aircrack-ng and such.

If anyone could tell me of an air-sniffing program that could do this on my htc tytn 2, I would be very grateful.

Does anyone know if the htc kaiser wifi card supports promiscuous mode after all?

You mean MiniStumbler? It says "No wireless adapter" at the bottom left (The wireless was on when I tried it).
I would be really happy if I manage to sniff encrypted packets with it - but I can't get it to work. The gps on it actually works and gets a fix, while the wifi adapter is not detected.

Correct me if I am wrong - but isn't NetStumbler / MiniStumbler a progrm to detect rogue APs? It can give you the exact location of an AP, but as for packet capture, I don't
know!

After some searching I got to know that ministumbler doesnt support htc tytn2 after all

Any other programs that can do sniffing for aircrack import? If not, can I download any drivers that will make my wifi card work with these programs?

Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Wififofum works! It can detect networks SSID and co-ords and save them into alot of different formats such as google maps. It does this perfectly and with ease.

But do you know how can I sniff/capture/collect encrypted packets that are flying through the air, and dump them to a file with it?
