yeah it does, but I would only leave it on while I was trying to use it if I could ever get it to work

The Reason...

The PPC-6700 Has a Standalone IR Decoder chip.. the Mogul has the IR Port tied directly to the Main processor. This is not a drawback, it is simply a way of reducing parts/space in the mogul. In order for Novii Remote to use the Mogul's IR port, it will need to be programmed for the Qualcomm's specific initialization routine.

There are two ways to usa an IR port.

1. Use windows DLL's
2. Create a low level driver (Or obtain the IR Driver and interface it)

If you use the windows DLL it will be limited to "International Standards" for data transfer and things that we are all familiar with.

If you create a low level driver you can directly read and output anything that the IR "sees". This is what Novii Remote has dome with other PPC's. It's just not up to date for the Mogul.

in english please? haha

English???

You want it in simple english eh? Well Pocket PC's don't work well with Simple English. :drunken:

Simply put... Novii Remote is made to work with certain Infra-Red Transceivers. Traditionally, there is a small microchip that controls the IR port. The chip is then connected to the main CPU of the Pocket PC and data can be transfered between the two (IR Chip<-->CPU). Now you know if you go to Novii's site... they have a compatibility list of PPC's? Well that's because they programmed the software to work with certain types of IR chips. The 6800 uses a different type of IR chip (It's actually built in, or embedded into the Main CPU itself) and is just too new for the software to interface with it.

Bottom Line: Novii will have to release new software or an update for it to work (Most likely).

ive gottn novii to work on my 6700, the ir range sucks though..
dunno about it on the mogul.

Just my experience but on the 6700 every time it said the IR could not be used was cuz I had beam turned off in comm manager, Beem setting have to be turned on in comm manager and toggle the recieve incoming beams setting works every time. My range with my 6700 is about 20 ft but I have to be somewhat level with the tv/dvd. Just my experiences.
