Thumbs up SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 vs. TouchFlo

Hi,

SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 has finally been released and after playing with it for a week or so I think it is the best shell application for Windows Mobile.
=D>

I prefer it over the TouchFlo3D because of the way it is desgined but mostly because of the speed. It is working extremely fast!

(I actually removed TF3D and replaced it with the older version as well, and version 3.0 is even better than the previous ones).

What do you think? Would you replace your TouchFlo with Mobile Shell?

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 vs. TouchFlo

I currently use M2D and have played with the beta Shell 3. For me the key is the ability to easily customize the UI to my liking. So with Shell 3 I want to specify which "faces" I see on the carousel. I don't want both the widget and the professional faces; just one or the other (I really like the Widget one). And I don't want to click the launcher and have the "recent applicaitons" list; I just want to specify a list of applications to launch via their icons - sorted in the order I want. Hoping to maybe see more of this kind of customization in the released version.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 vs. TouchFlo

i have both on my phone at the moment. i have always been a huge touch flo fan, its one of the reasons i got the touch pro. the efficiency and ease/speed of mobile shell 3 is much better than touch flo in my opinioin but sometimes i want the eye candy of touch flo. really just depends on my mood i guess but i just switch back and forth and get the best of both worlds

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 vs. TouchFlo

MS3 seems to eat my battery more than TF3D actually but I will continue to try it out. I don't like TF3D very much and I know people will start customizing MS3

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 vs. TouchFlo

Ive been using ms3 since the day it leaked. Im thinking of switching back to tf3d though for a couple reasons. 1 I miss being able to preview my texts and emails before entering the application. 2 It takes FOREVER to swich from portrait to landscape modes. Almost like it was tested on the diamond and just made usable for the pro. Im hoping skins will fix the first issue and updates the second. also why isnt there a poll on this?

I like it more than TF3D but I wholeheartedly agree with racemepls about it being far to slow switching between portrait and landscape. Previewing texts and email is a nice feature of TF3D to but the customizability of MS3 is miles above anything else

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 vs. TouchFlo

I was using manila2d before switching to this, and like others stated, there are plenty of pros and cons for each. However, I think I'll be sticking with MS3, the customizations should only get better as more people tinker with it.. I'm sure things like the recent programs list and such will get some regedits to them eventually.

Someone already found that you can add more pages/screens to the lifestyle screen by changing the value at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Widgets\HomeScreen\PageCount value to number of screens

I have seen this app on a friends phone and just put it on mine the other day, but I still prefer the touchflo 3d. Don't get me wrong it is an awesome app and the design is crazy, but I just like the tf3d for some reason. Mine is very fast and never lags, but some people have different experiences.

I wonder if previewing texts and emails will be possible in MS3 in the future with a new widget either form SPB or 3rd party.
