Re: GPS Program not Requiring Internet
Will the Garmin Mobile XT Program run correctly with a WVGA Samsung Omnia 2 i920 (Verizon Wireless), running WinMo 6.5?

Re: GPS Program not Requiring Internet
I'm using alltel prepaid with a diamond and have been looking for some kind of gps mapping that would not use data/etc (data is .10/minute) and that was free, I have tested several and the best I found was navicomputer, while it does not do directions, etc (I haven't played fully with it), I am able to pull up where I am and figure out what I need to do if I am lost (I moved to another state recently and out in the country, not many landmarks to remember for turns, etc)
I was able to download the maps for pretty close to the entire state, level 7 through 13 gives me enough detail, took about an hour to download and is about 35 meg again, I haven't played much with it, but what would be nice is where you could select 2 points on the map and it would draw a line, while an actual route might use data, if there was at least a line from point a to point b you could watch the map for turns, etc, more manual for gps mapping but better then nothing just my 2 cents |

Re: GPS Program not Requiring Internet
I mentioned Navicomputer back on page one of this thread. It can save routes as you go as GPX files, making it easy to retrace your path or repeat it in the future. GPX routes can also be created separately in advance and imported. Natively creating waypoints, favorites, bookmarks, etc are planned for versoion 0.9 per the developer's blog.
