Not, wrong again based on your post, you need to more specific in your posts......you said "Dashwire will not sync texts with WM6.1".....it does sync....you said nothing about deleting....I notice that you change your answer each time to try to make your argument right...the only part you have been right about is the delete portion of texts when syncing....but they can be deleted from the site itself....

BTW who really cares if you can delete them....I can delete them on the site and I can delete them from the phone.......

Perhaps you could sync your phone over activesync to get the contacts on your phone, then sync to Dashwire?

What is the source of contacts?

Scrapmaker has a good question, please let us know where the contacts you want to import are currently. If they are on your PPC (I assume not though because your asking LOL), they will sync fine. Any other source, and (like flyers2114 mentioned) I don't think it is possible.

If you let us know, we can try to help you out, as soon as you get the contacts into either your phone or DashBoard, they will sync to the other, so make sure you want that as a final result!!

P.S. please include your device name + OS

Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

Whew I leave for a little relaxing weekend in montana, get back into the office this morning, and from the looks of it there seems to be some extra activity... teaches me to take a vacation ...

Sorry to all of you that posted for not making what Dashwire does completely clear. And sorry the response from us has been a little late in coming.

To be absolutely clear: First of all any information on the Dashwire site is deletable. And to the initial question about us deleting entire accounts, yes we do delete accounts. As stated before, you need to email support@dashwire.com with the request. We forward the email to our engineers who then take care of the account. That said, in the past couple of weeks our engineers have been incredibly busy with a couple of projects and the deletions might have taken a couple of days. But once a request comes the account will get deleted.

Second, all content from the phone should sync (pictures, videos, calls, text messages, etc.) to your personal dashboard as long as your phone is using WM 5, 6.0, or 6.1. Now we have had some issues with 6.1 recently, and we are currently working on a build that should solve those issues. But most of our users can sync all of their content even with 6.1 (we think it might be a narrow issue that has to do with certain phones).

And thirdly, there seems to be some misunderstanding about Dashwire and the sync/restore functionality. So again to be clear: Dashwire syncs all of your content from your phone to your personal dashboard online. Now if you wipe your phone or buy a new one, once you download Dashwire onto your new device all of your contacts, web favorites, and speed dials are restored. Your calls, text messages, photos, and videos remain saved onto your dashboard (though not restored to your device), and any new content you create on the phone is automatically added to the dashboard. Some back-up programs have more functionality, but we see ourselves as more than just a back-up program. We want to be a social conduit that connects your life to phone and the web (and thus to others) in easy and useful ways.

And finally, the dashboard and the information in it is protected by the same security system Facebook uses. The security of your personal information is paramount to us thus we do everything we can to make sure it stays safe.

I hope that answers some of your concerns and questions. In my absence I really appreciate those users that helped with some of the issues. And thanks to all of our users. We are still in beta and all of your input and support is really pushing us to make the best possible product. It's a process... but with your help we'll all get there.

Gmail. They need to add this, I don't want to import my contacts 1 by 1, and I don't have Outlook.

Great info.

Will you be rolling out an update program soon?
Last version that came out, I had to go, find, download, install on top of my existing.

You bring about a really cool point I have been meaning to bring up to DashWire and I guess here is as good a place as email!!

I wouldn't think it too hard to enable DashWire to automatically check for self-updates, and if it detects one during a sync, pop-up a message on the PPC stating there is an updated/newer version of DashWire released and asking if we want to update/download now? That would be quicker, easier, and allow people to KNOW they are on a current version!!
