Answer button prob/switching parts

I have a vz6700. 99% of the time when I get an incoming call and hit the answer button the phone immidiately drops the call. Is there a reg tweak that might help?

Also

I have a 6700 from verizon that I stupidly updated using the verizon update. Therefore I cannot install wm6 without downgrading and risk bricking my phone. My buddy has a 6700 that works fine, just has some cracks in it. His phone does not have the vz update installed. I was wondering if it is possible to switch certain selected parts from his phone into mine that would have the older bootloader installed, effectively enabling me to install wm6 on my phone. Some advice would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.
