Volume hack?

Is there I hack that will allow the volume to go higher than it already does?

Got a specific device or do you want me to just yell louder?

If it's the 6700. Nope.

If it's the 700wx. Nope (that and you're probably deaf since it's so loud).

Some possible good news: looks like Teksoft (who make some sweet software) are looking into this, so I'd drop them a line and bug 'em about it:

I have a Samsung IP-830w. I'll contact teksoftco and see what they're up to. Thanks!

Malatesta,

I used to play MP3s on WMP until I downloaded the Core Media Player which comes with an equalizer. When I turn up the preamp in the equalizer, it can raise the volume on my 700wx to the point of distortion. I would estimate that it increases the max volume over and above what I could get out of WMP by 70-100%.

I am one of those few people who need even more volume than the 700wx is capable of during a phone conversation, either with the wired earbuds or built-in ear speaker. The Core Media Player has demonstrated that my device can output a much higher volume level. Core is the only app I have seen which has unlocked the secret to doing it.

As one who suffers from a degree of hearing loss, I hope something can be worked out for phone volume because it is a struggle to hear well most of the time.

yea for me also, i guess all those years playing with a drummer really did its damage lol

fun tho

If the original question was regarding call volume on the 6700, I highly recommend the EVRC "hack" posted about 1/2 down in this article:

http://www.zdziarski.com/papers/xv6700.html

After doing this, I experienced for the first time I actually had to turn DOWN the volume in phone conversation! Now it's still not made for noisy situations, but made a considerable difference in my case.

Now on my Sprint 6700 (yellow logo), when I enter ##778 + TALK, it dials that number... Is there a diff number sequence for Sprint 6700 to get above settings?

mofotrucker 01-21-2007 05:48 AM

##778# try that :) and i think you need your msl code for the phone :D

coolguy 01-21-2007 12:02 PM

Yah I have MSL Code, but I dont see any of those options in my Sprint 6700... that IN-CALL hack is only for Verizon! :(

I guess no way to increase In-call volume on Sprint!

Ph33zy 01-21-2007 09:09 PM

I have that option under my yellow logo sprint phone. Did you make sure you clicked on CDMA settings? I'm using AKU 3.3 btw-not too sure if that makes a difference. I don't really notice a difference w/ this hack though.

coolguy 01-22-2007 12:32 AM

Yah, I finally got it too.. I cant notice any improvement either :( ..

When driving, I cant hear a thing :(

There is a reg edit for the 6700.

HKCU/ControlPanel/Phone

Change the Vol entry to 95000

It seemed to help a little, I don know if it is psycosimatic or not.

Does anyone know if any larger values will work?

hmm... mine is default with the button cranked up at 65535 which for the programers represents a magic number. 65535 is the maximum value for an computer to repesent an interger type number. I doubt anything will make a difference above this value. But... ill try anyway

xarses 02-06-2007 02:35 AM

Update on the vol reg. hasent made any difference over 65535 so no luck there
