WiFi Router (dissable ssid & wep)

I searched around but couldn't find a solid answer to my two questions. Hope you can help.

1. Is there registry tweak or something to disable the wifi router from broadcasting the ssid?

2. Is there a way to use wpa2 instead of wep and if not does anyone know if there will be a way in the future?
