Root Windows CE from Device?

Hello everybody,

I wanted to know if it was possible to root windows ce from the "gps for dummies" device. The device has windows ce core 5.0. Is there some way to hard reset the device or reprogram it to allow me full use of the true windows ce operating system?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can either help me with this, give me advice, tips or further my knowledge on how to reach my goal.

Which device do you have? Because I have a Navigon device with WinCE 5.0 aswell, and I was able to boot directly to the OS...its kind of cool, it looks like Windows 98.

But the same Procedure that I used might not work on othe branded GPS's.

i too am wondering about this. i have a "For Dummies" Maylong FD-420 and was wondering if there was a way to access the native windows ce 5.0. my device is blue screening on me asking for a SD card. i need to access and reprogram the core. thanks!
