so - kinda like a couple of the other questions, but what do you have to do to make this the 'default' opera, and take the place of the built-in one. My other Opera installs have installed fine, but are in addition to the original, not in place of.

thanks

I think there is a registry setting you can do, but I dont have that post off the top of my head. There is one on here, or xda that says...make Opera your default browser. Mine is set that way, but have not tested it where a program launches a browser to see what one it loads.

The Megaupload looks to be working fine for me. I cant seem to ever download in Firefox, but I opened IE and it downloaded fine.

Also, the settings page is all jacked up and in VGA font, and to correct it you can either do...
HKLM\Software\Opera\Prefs\Adaptive Zoom\ to 100 (decimal).

Or download.... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ETBUAMH0

Haven't tested yet, and dont know if it will do the zoom bar deal correctly, but if someone does load it, let me know if that function works in that cab. If not, I would suggest keeping my original one I posted installed and changing the KEY to change the settings stuff.

This cab is QVGA, don't we need WVGA for Touch Pro 2?

still doesn't work after installing Enable RAPI. Same error. :(

Sprint TP2

may need netframe 3.5... but then again it would say wrong framework so hmmmmmmm... try that anyways or maybe installing to device or card.

You're right, my fault, but the registry edit with a value of 100 over the 197 I think was default helped quite a bit. I'm sure you can go higher to make it bigger, but it was too big and distorted originally. Did make it nicer. I may mess with that value a little more. I'll take down that link above.

A strange thing happened after installing the file Opera_Browser.9.70.35461.cab. The phone crashed after the soft reset, then I had to un-install opera 9.7. The built-in browser after that started behaving in a strange way. for example, when opening the favourites (pressing the star button) in land scape mode, the favourites window appears automatically in portrait mode. I tried to install the 9.7 again, then I got the message that I do not have to the needed rights. Any suggestions? How at least to restore the built-in Opera?

Not sure man, mine installed just fine and have had no problems with it what so ever. The built in Opera should still be there, under the Windows section. 9.7 for me anyway installs under programs. So you should be ok. Try looking for it under your programs too. You should see 2 different Opera Icons.

Actually, I checked mine, and I think I deleted 9.5, so I dont think I have it. But if you have NOT deleted it, it should still be there.

Besides that, it could be a conflict with something why it's crashing. I dont think anyone else has had that problem that I am aware of.

Same thing happened to me! I've tried renaming registry settings under HKLM\Software\Opera, no go. installed EnableRAPI, sdkcerts, no go. Uninstall pretty much sets me back to Opera 9.5

older builds of Opera 9.7 beta seem to install fine, but crash at startup now. :(
