does "Server Name" matter or did you leave that what it already was?

Yea. The new HTC messaging doesn't seem that fast, it seems like it needs to load every individual message when you open a conversation.

I looks a lot better than having a HTC sense/Windows message hybrid interface though.

When you say "http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms?X-SPRINT-MDN=xxxxxxxxxx" do you include the quotes, or not. I tried it both ways but didn't have much luck.

I have the Arc-soft Cab installed and with puff601 settings that he posted I can now received MMS's and it show's as sent but so far looks like they are not making it.

I already had a thread started on this, is there any reason why you had to create a new one?

Re: New SMS update from HTC Mostly working!!!!

OK so a update, I did a hard reset just to make sure other things are not interfering. I installed the Update and DID NOT installed the Arcsoft cab. I entered in all my settings and I can send and receive text's and I can receive MMS's but now I am getting a error saying can not send MMS.

Have you tried to send to a different phone and have them receive it?

I hope this helps you guys, ive been struggling with htc messaging for a while now so im thrilled to finally find one that fully functions :)

btw, im on stock sprint 6.5 with Sense 2.5

I am also on stock 6.5/2.5 & am wondering why I don't have any issue with the HTC SMS/MMS GUI...am I not understanding the issue?

I have had no issues sending or receiving MMS/SMS.

The only issue really has been deleting all the mssgs as they appear to reside in 2 locations & deleting them all in 1 screen doesn't necessarily delete them all in another.

Can you please expand on what the issue is?

this is a newer version of htc messaging that makes everything faster and simpler, but some of us are having issues with getting mms to work correctly

Re: New SMS update from HTC Mostly working!!!!

I added Sprint's MMS server as described in posts before. When i send a MMS, it shows sending MMS in the notification area and just sits there....after some time the phone would just become unresponsive and needs a soft rest....if i dont do anything with MMS and just send SMS, it works perfectly

Ok - so smoother operations but MMS is buggy.
So - yes - I understand the SMS/MMS lag during send in the UI but was there really any other issues?

My MMS/SMS still were sent & received with the momentary delay...any other issue on stock?

When I'm over 100 msgs things start lagging expontentially just switching between messages & opening / closing them....

Re: New SMS update from HTC Mostly working!!!!

This is what was told to me over at XDA.
I tried it out (business phone) so hopefully it saves some1 else the trouble of the same issue. I guess I'm lucky I didnt have to hard reset, although during the first installation it froze and went SOD on me...

"Sprint is CDMA, Use at Own Risk If you do not have HTC Messaging already installed MY cab HOTFIX will not help you. I cannot test CDMA as I dont have one."

Ya, the first link I posted with the cab is from the Europe site, it's not a CDMA cab but technicality it should work, looks like the only issue for CDMA is MMS.

Re: New SMS update from HTC Mostly working!!!!

OK so I'll throw a little of what I know in here... I spent like 5 days playing with HTC MEssaging 1.8 trying to get MMS to work... Now VZW has the opposite problem that Sprint has... sort of... Sprint cannot SEND MMS. Verizon can send MMS, and even receive the message for a new MMS, but HTC messaging is unable to download the pic/vid/etc.

Here are the "correct" VZW server settings (doing this from memory until I get HTC messaging installed again...)

Server Name: SampleMMSC
IP: (blank)
Port: 80
Server Address: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms?X-VZW-MDN=1234567890 (replace with your 10 digit phone #)
Connection: Verizon Wireless (or Data)
WAP: None
Size Limit: 1024 (though this is not critical, as a simple reg edt can increase this to 5MB)

These settings worked on an old MightyROM Impact back in Dec/Jan/Feb for send AND receive. For some reason, these settings do not work to download the MMS attachment anymore. This leads me to believe that VZW changed something recently (which may also explain the other non-HTC MMS issues some ppl have been having)...

Hopefully this helps, and I'll post back if I find anything new!

for verizon, some people have success with using port 8080 instead of just 80. in case you haven't already tried that.

Will this conflict with MM rom(make sms slower, buggier,etc...)

Coz i just finished customizing it to my perfection after 2 days.

Re: New SMS update from HTC Mostly working!!!!

I dont understand.

If this is a Product FROM HTC why is it not working 100% out of the box! Its made for the TP2 atleast it says it is on the HTC website.

Why would they put out this update if its not complete?!!!
