Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
I installed the v2.0.0 last Friday, and because of the major changes made to it from 1.8.5, I was struggling for the whole weekend. I have a list of problems I encountered.
1. first and foremost, this is a problem I found in 1.8.5, if I use the HTC txt msg program, which is integrated into HTC people program(and I like the integration but understand there are a lot of problems in that itself) and if I turn on lock on sleep, it will SOD, or mess up the sense completely. I'll have to back out of the HTC people before I push the power button. I had turned off the CHT's lock screen on 1.8.5 because of this problem, using the manila lock screen but select lock on sleep only. But for this version, I can't turn on lock on sleep without turn on CHT lock screen. I'll have to install the lockdevice separately for that purpose I think. Is this version using the lockdevice as well? 2. The location service was not working on my phone. It was working fine on 1.8.5, but after the upgrade, it didn't work for the whole time. I uninstalled the 2.0, and have to turn off the location service, reset, then turn it back on to resume the location service(mainly the weather update for local) I'm running on WM 6.5 stock sprint. Personally I turned off the soft buttons on home tab, probably because the 6.5 doesn't have such a huge bottom curtain, I'm ok with the original slider and built up a habit to use it, I got lost on the soft buttons on the first two days. |
Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
Turn on CHT lock screen. Enable lock on sleep reset then turn OFF cht lock screen.
it will remember the lock on sleep selection. |

Since turning on cht lock screen will auto reset, so I didn't do another reset last time. This time I did another reset(power off by holding the power button) and it worked. The manila lock screen is quicker than the HD mini, called HD mini, is it coming from HTC HD? |

Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
when trying it,
1. the vertical mode(keyboard slides out) isn't correct for me. 2. with proximity sensor on, it SOD after received a txt msg and was in a pocket 3. the proximity sensor on sometimes = proximity relight 4. in the HTC contact program, the retract slider got messed up, covers the input area. I love the proximity sensor, that make sense. |
Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
Hey santon, thanks for the early update posted a couple pages back I've been using it for about 24hrs. The CHT in general is much faster and smoother now, epically the animations and swiping from left to right on the homescreen. 24 hrs hasn't really given me enough time to fully analyze the change in battery life, but it seems to be saving a lot of battery when the screen is off.
Stability seems to have increased slightly. All previous problem's I've experience seem to be gone (fingers crossed, it's still day one lol) but I've getting the error of not being able to see/interact w/ the home screen more often now than before. (suppose i go to the start menu, if i try to go home, i just see the start menu and clicking the screen does nothing. Although i can access every other part of the phone besides cht. restarting sense or soft resetting fixes the problem). btw These experiences come from using an overclocked Sprint Touch Pro 2. Oct 25th wm6.5 (build 21916) energy rom Again, thank you very much for all of your hard work (and the rest of the team). If you ever need another tester, please pm me. Moreover, I'm in school for programming right now, so if you guys don't have enough free time to get some somewhat simple stuff done let me now. :) |
Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
Feedback...
Running 2.0 Beta with the chtstate108f fix on Neodium 10/20 ROM. I'm using the CHT lockscreen w/ no other lockscreen installed. Today, I have experienced: 1) a black screen of unresponsive death, soft reset phone manually 2) periodically, when switching from the home page to the regular sense tabs, the sense tabs fail to appear at the bottom. The only way to get them back is to swipe through sense back to the home screen & retry...which generally brings up sense correctly. Any advice? I have backgrounds set on HQ & full eye candy... am I taxing the TP2 processor too much? |
Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
Just an small bug update.
I got a new TP2 (scored on CL for $120 mint!!) so this was a chance to try a "clean" install Install went great. restoring the backup worked nicely. alas the "shifted" screen for quicklinks happens on the new unit as well. this is a 100% clean factory reset install of NOTHING but cht and cht editor. No other programs or installations at all. running stock 6.5 sprint rom. I have also never been able to get CHT to run on the T-Mobile TP2 running 6.5 with net3.5. It also still messes with the quicklinks. (I was wondering if maybe something we all installed was causing that this says no) Now that I have 2 tp2's I am willing to screw around with one so if you want me to test anything just let me know. |
Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
Got some more info. had to hard reset so I tried a different tact installing this time.
I notice the quicklinks DO NOT do the half screen slide thing until I "restore" my cht backup. Then it does it. SO there is something "in" the backup file causing this ??? Suggestions? is there a way to undo a backup? ie "reset" cht ? maybe if I make my interface over again and make a backup before it "does" the half slide thing I can avoid it. also the backup remember the bottom skinning but DOES NOT remember the top skinning. I have to go in and select that again. it also does not remember the lock screen wallpaper. |

I knew you had done something to mess up your quicklinks, as there is never an issue with them for me. There was a fix or two made to the quicklinks as well, in the last update of the Editor, so importing old to the new, may cause the conflict you are seeing. I personally always suggest setting everything from scratch, anytime there are strange issues after an import. Best way to rule out the conflict. Also, with CHTS, you can save profiles, which will then store your wallpaper or wallpaper directory for when you save a backup with CHTS. Then upon restoring a profile, it will have saved your wallpaper as well. |
Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
"I knew you had done something to mess up your quicklinks" ahh slight correction. CHT had done something to mess up my quicklinks :-) all I can do is add remove or move. everything else is CHT :-)
I deleted all QL's no joy still does it so now I will do the reset and see how it goes. doing a reset caused cprog and manilla to crash but it did sort itself and it does not do the half slide thing now. Time to redo all the settings again :-) |
Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
Its being very naughty. keeps crashing manilla and now its starting to "remember" bits and pieces of my saved backup even though I reset it so I am hard resetting and will try again but delete the backups from the sd card first :-)

Re: {{Manila Mod}}[26-Sep-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 Beta
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cust...r1375656_1.gifFirst of all, I’d like to apologize for the confusion surrounding the announced and long missed ETA. I broke my own rule about (not) giving out ETAs, but at the time I felt:
(1) it would ease the wait for final and (2) I was very confident it would complete in that time window. Well, as you know, it wasn’t completed then, not so much because there was too much to be done, but more a question of finding the needed spare time to work on it. As it turned out I didn't have much time to spare for most of October. Life happens. In any case, development is back on track and the final will be released just as soon as it’s done – it will not be today, so save your F5 keys http://media.xda-developers.com/imag...lies/smile.gif But I would like to let you know what to expect and what not to expect from the final. Like I said previously, the final will be straight-forward cleanup of the beta, without any major new features. Those expecting something grand will be disappointed, but those how have been patiently waiting for bug fixes will be glad to know that CHT’s gears will be turning problem free. And of course, the final will also be good news for those who have been holding off on installing version 2.0 because of its beta status. Below you will find a log of the changes and fixes made so far. It’s a rough guide of what to expect. BUT: Please, don’t post any additional questions about the changelog or ETA. Everything will be clear when the final is released. Thanks for your patience and support http://media.xda-developers.com/imag...lies/smile.gif #v2.0.0 (changes since public beta) -[new] sms and email notification shortcuts will jump to CHT widgets -[new] option to disable non-edit mode popup menu (CHTEditor->Widget settings) -[new] option to make toggle switch turn on bluetooth in discoverable mode (CHTEditor->Miscellaneous) -[new] option for original flip clock animation (CHTEditor->Miscellaneous) -[new/fixed] updated chtstate v1.08g -[change] tab and state links are no longer part of the base CHT cab - available as addons -[fixed] phone hardkey not working -[fixed] tab change bug when only a single home widget page is set -[fixed] left/right swipe stops working -[fixed] various quick/free links assignment and move bugs -[fixed] independent quick links bugs (invisible link presses) -[fixed] quick links layout bug when setting a lower max row count -[fixed] quick links disappearing text -[fixed] sms and email mark read on timeout will only be set if the widget is currently on the screen -[fixed] sms and email swipe not active on the lockscreen -[fixed] missed calls notification icon not updating correctly -[fixed] bugs with "don't repeat multiday appointment" option -[fixed] WM6.5.x detection method -[fixed] sms/email popup menu exiting -[fixed] wallpaper previous/next/random links with very wide walls -[fixed] widget might disappear after being unpinned -[fixed] pinning widgets close to or over the edge of the screen -[fixed] free links size on lockscreen -[fixed] appointment/tasks list hides independent quick links grid when it should not -[fixed] add a link page in landscape |

Re: {{Manila Mod}}[12-Nov-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 - Final Released
CHT v2.0.0 final released.
Notes for those upgrading from CHT 2.0 Beta: A new version of CHTEditor is also available: CHTEditor v2.0.0.0 final - you must use the final version of CHTEditor with CHT 2.0 final. You must use the final version of CHTEditor with the final version of CHT. Notable change: The state and tab link are no longer part of the base CHT cab. They can be downloaded as addons. See post 4 on the first page to download them. If you had the links assigned before in the beta, they will be restored to their previous positions after installing them again. SMS and email notification links (this includes quick/free links, notification bar icons and lock slider shortcuts) will jump to the widgets if they are available on the home tab. There is an option to disable this for those who don't want it. In any case, is the widgets are not set on the home tab at all the links will jump to the sms/email tabs instead. Bug fixes: A lot of bugs have been fixed. Of course, no piece of software is truly bug free. There may still be some issues affecting specific devices/ROM/mania version. For a list of known issues keep an eye on the third post on the first page. Notes for those upgrading from CHT v1.x.x: CHT version v2.0.0 brings major changes. Most of the mod has been rewritten from the ground up, every line of code has been looked over and optimized for speed. Lots of new features have also been added along with an addon widget framework. Generally the mod is more configurable than ever. You must uninstall any previous version of CHT and soft reset before installing this one. A new version of CHTEditor is also available: CHTEditor v2.0.0.0 final - you must use the final version of CHTEditor with CHT 2.0 final. There is no backward compatibility with versions 1.x.x, so you can't import old CHTE 1.x settings files. But, future versions will be compatible going forward, so you will be able to import your 2.0.0 settings into any 2.x.x version. If you're upgrading from v2.0 beta, read this post. Here are the highlights of what's new in v2.0.0. A full list of changes is very quite large and you should read the user manual to find out all that's possible. These are just highlights, but I know you'll discover the details by reading the manual and of course while exploring the home tab itself http://media.xda-developers.com/imag...lies/smile.gif - left/right sliding pages configurable from 1 to 7 pages (separately configurable for portrait, landscape and lockscreen) - redesigned softkey area, bottom menu and tab slider (tap and hold the slider button, don't just tap and release) - quick links can be configured in any row by column layout - new links that are can be freely moved anywhere on the screen (free links - add from popup menu) - free links have a slide-to-launch feature on the lockscreen - more widgets: email, sms, RSS, weather, clocks (digital, flip and analog) - widgets can be pinned into place and some can be freely resized - addon widget framework: widgets can be made by anyone and installed as an addon cab General notes and going forward: Well, version 2.0 was a huge step and here it finalized. I'm very happy to have been able to bring this to you and I hope that you enjoy it. Future versions are of course planned and your comments/ideas/requests are always welcome. For the immediate future I plan to make a few new addon widgets. Changelog since beta: Code: #v2.0.0 (changes since public beta) -[new] sms and email notification shortcuts will jump to CHT widgets -[new] option to disable non-edit mode popup menu (CHTEditor->Widget settings) -[new] option to make toggle switch turn on bluetooth in discoverable mode (CHTEditor->Miscellaneous) -[new] option for original flip clock animation (CHTEditor->Miscellaneous) -[new/fixed] updated chtstate v1.08g -[change] tab and state links are no longer part of the base CHT cab - available as addons -[fixed] phone hardkey not working -[fixed] tab change bug when only a single home widget page is set -[fixed] left/right swipe stops working -[fixed] various quick/free links assignment and move bugs -[fixed] independent quick links bugs (invisible link presses) -[fixed] quick links layout bug when setting a lower max row count -[fixed] quick links disappearing text -[fixed] sms and email mark read on timeout will only be set if the widget is currently on the screen -[fixed] sms and email swipe not active on the lockscreen -[fixed] missed calls notification icon not updating correctly -[fixed] bugs with "don't repeat multiday appointment" option -[fixed] WM6.5.x detection method -[fixed] sms/email popup menu exiting -[fixed] wallpaper previous/next/random links with very wide walls -[fixed] widget might disappear after being unpinned -[fixed] pinning widgets close to or over the edge of the screen -[fixed] free links size on lockscreen -[fixed] appointment/tasks list hides independent quick links grid when it should not -[fixed] add a link page in landscape -[fixed] wide wallpapers move up after live change -[dev] custom operator text and foreground layer changes are live (no need for manila restart) -[dev] updated the setup.dll for addon widgets to add as small install safeguard -[dev] separated appointment/tasks list and popup menu graphics -[dev] addon links framework added |

sweet, i love the cht 2.0 santod! i couldnt imagine my tp2 w/out cht
i did run into an issue though. im trying to set up my home tab similar to how i had cht 1.8.5. the only issue i keep running into is that i cant seem to add the music player to my home tab in landscape. when i add it, cht editor shows that its enabled but its not on the screen. it seems that cht places the music player in a area thats not visible... so i cant drag it to where i want it :( has anyone else had this issue? i added the music player to portrait with no issues, but landscape is giving me hell. http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/459/screen015w.png |

Re: {{Manila Mod}}[12-Nov-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v2.0.0 - Final Released
I had quicklinks replicate on me again. From "center" quicklinks, swiping left & right shows quicklinks with duplicates from center set. I'm on Vin's 11.9 Pluto, but I don't think ROM matters, since this also happened on previous Vin Roms & 2.0b. Also, center grid is 4x4.
Also, with extra-wide WP, quicklink grids kept getting out of alignment (off center) when swiping left, back, right, back, etc. Also, was able to continuously swipe left from quicklink level, beyond defined number of pages, with quicklink grid moving off the page. But moving up to main & then back to quicklinks re-centered the quicklink grids. Somehow, it corrected itself. Don't remember exactly what I did. Notably, after making changes via CHTE and exiting, saying yes to the "restart sense" option doesn't seem to always reset sense. Nonetheless, I'm very thankful for the entire CHT crew! |
