I finally did get it to work. Had to load Resco to import the reg file, and had to move the manila file after editing to a folder location on the phone then use Total Commander to copy from one location on the phone to the Windows folder. Otherwise looks great! Thanks for the detailed instructions.

b) Delete the configuration reg-key HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration (this resets the tab list and allows the new tab to be included in the tab re-ordering page of the settings tab)

your missing that part in your quick readme here on the forums, other then that everything worked :)

Works great, thanks! One question though- Is there any way to change the slider icon? I'm on Mr. X with cmylxgo's Violet theme, and the big blue F logo clashes with it. Is there any way to extract that specific tab icon & edit it to match?

it should work for ya if you just wanna make your own the instructions are on that link too. I highly doubt if anyones made a cab for one yet beings as its so new and all but im gonna try and fab up my own as well to match my blue glow slider. I hope that works for ya.

At first I thought I was just unpopular cause nothing new was popping up when I tried to sync it, but then I logged in via the FB app & there were all sorts of notifications. I can't get this tab to sync anything. I've tried logging out then back in several times & got it to display one of my own wall posts last night but it disappeared right away. Dunno what I'm doing wrong...

Nevermind, got it. Not sure why but the only way I can find it is a search. Browsing doesn't show it.

Is a cab file able to be put together on this? Im not that far advanced yet on phone programming. Its like taking a computer class trying to figure out all of the settings and instructions. I greatly appreciate the instructions but a simple cab would be awesome. Im using nrg rom march 9 and like it pretty well I dont want to change to a new rom just to get this facebook tab but would love to add it to the tabs i have already.

Im running Xpressyourcell's rom and after installing the tab/app, my quick links are gone. How do I get them back? or was there something that I did wrong?

Edit: I fixed it. I just let manila fully load and soft reset again. Quick links are back. thanks for the tut!

Anybody willing to test a cab of this for me? Just baked it into my phone and it works great but I wanted to make sure it works with other configurations. I did get an error on reboot but it didn't cause any problems. Plase only contact me if you are able to flash your phone after you've tested. PM me.

I cant seem to see the /windows folder when browsing my device from my computer. I can see it though if i go through file explorer. But nothing through my computer. any ideas whats goin on?

Ok what you need to do is go into main memory root directory from your computer and on the upper left side of that window there's a tab that says organize assuming you have vista cause that's what I'm running. Click that and go down to folder and search options from there go to view on that screen scroll down to hide protected system folders and uncheck that box hit apply and your windows folder should magically appear lol. hope that does it for ya.

SOMEONE pleas help! Okay i put in the facebook code in 269 file. then i try to copy it into my devices windows directory. it says "this file could not be placed into the device. you do have permission to create this item" AAHHHHHHH its pissing me off, what am i doing wrong? and yea i have vista!

I made a cab if you wanna help me test it :-)

Try making it Read Only again after you have saved it. You can also copy it to another location on the device and then from Total Commander or Resco on the device, copy it into the Windows directory. I think you still have to make it read only again for the second option too. Near the end of the tut, you will see the Read Only directions. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want to try the cab

I recommend PHM or Resco registry editors. Do you know how to navigate the registry? Be very careful, wrong edits can be very bad!!!

Something I just thought of too is that now that you have edited the file from you PC you can move all of the files to your phone in some non "Windows" location and follow the directions without the code modification. In other words, copy the contents of the windows folder to the Windows directory again from the phone, use Task Manager v3.1 registry editor to run (Import) the appFacebook.reg file, then copy the 269 Manila file (already edited) back into the Windows directory, and then delete the manilafull.xml and delete the key "configuration" as mentioned above. Do all of this from your phone. I think you Configuration key mishap is due to the .reg file not registering. Make sure to do this step from inside task manager v3.1. It will allow you to "Import" the .reg file so it enumerates correctly. Let me know if you need help with this.

I did all the above, I have the tab showing but when I go to the Facebook tab, Touch Flo shuts down and restarts. Any idea on how to fix?

Sounds like either your reg file didn't import or your editing may be altered. Check your registry to see if the edits are there. If not use Task Manager 3.1 to Import the file.

The entries are in the registry. I went in and altered them to reflect the proper path for facebook.exe. I was unable to locate the file manillafull.xml even with a search. Could that be my problem?

Yea so was I at first. took me a while to get it. only because the instructions are not to specific at all. I finally got it working though. What i messed up on, was putting the windows folder that you download from the attachment into my windows directory in my phone and also putting the appfacebook.reg file in the windows directory. put i found the readme file thats in the attachment to be more helpful. It was a little more specific. I had to open the windows folder, that you download from the attachment and copy those files into my windows directory in my phone. Then after that i had to put the appfacebook.reg file in the root of the phone. if anyone needs help message me ill give you a specific step by step. its actually pretty easy

Problem... Is anyones facebook tab as worthless as mine? maybe i did something wrong, but it is working. here is the problem- it dont tell me any update statuses of my friends, like the pics show on this thread. the only thing there is "me" and my fb pic. i can click on "me" and see my notifications, like messages comments etc. other than that the tab is just so plain...anyone else have this problem, or know how i can fix this? thanks in advanced! :)
