Found the .dll you need to edit to get rid of the stock looking SMS alert icon. Its in MessagingRes.dll.

Dunno if you are aware, or if its just me, but I don't have the 'send' icon when sending a txt message. It is just a blank button and not the little envelope icon as usual. Button still functions though.

just a quick question...your cab does it include all required cabs such as sdkcerts, does it have the 1% bat.cab? or do you need to install the sdkcerts 1st then your cab then soft reset? i only ask cuz when i tried your v1 my start txt on top was shifted to the right (kinda close to the center of top bar) and the only icons on the tb that showed up was voicemail cuz i had 1, and the drop down taskmanager. and the notification enhancement would never pull up.

on juicyr8, its 6.5 and positive its 2.5.1922...

i like the transparency, works w/ what ever backround you have. just an idea, the battery having a greenish tint at full then as it goes down greenish-yellowish tint to yellowish to yellowish-redish to the redish you have already at low. i think i read you were going for no color but i just thought sum color tint on certain icons would make it pop that little bit, such as the battery and how you have for inactive data?

really if i ever had sum time i would like to ask you if i could use your icons but put a lil twist on them?

okay, my cab does not include sdkcerts or 1% battery...

i have seen the sdkcerts file around, but have not used it in testing my taskbar.... is it needed? i have not installed and my taskbar works fine...
the 1% battery is done in the registry right? might have one available with the 1% battery option....

will look at the battery soon......

i have tested this taskbar on energyrom 23518 and all works fine.

i am downloading energyrom 21889 now to test it and work out any bugs......

huh, i always thought it was a requirement, to install sdkcerts 1st, soft reset then, the tb. and the 1% battery.cab was to show have the 1% increments show like 1% 2% and so, but in your tb you dont have the digits so i dont think its needed? (i like there is a cab 4 it on xda or nue2chem made 1 for our tp2's)

ok maybe it has to do w/ your rom? did your rom already come w/ a custom tb? if so maybe it already had the sdcerts in it...i'll test...1st install sdcerts, soft reset, then your newer v1.3, soft reset then i'll post

seen your link in the 6.5 custom tb thread, you'll get sum good rep.

now i installed the sdkcerts then your v1.3 and i still have the same issue; start txt is shifted over to the middle and no icons showed up except the voicemail i had. and tapping the top bar any where did nothing like start wouldnt take me to start menu, etc.

im thinking it has to do w/ the version of 6.5 i have using juicy's rom. i'm not sure how to check what version i have or what #s matter. in the about phone section of settings i see this, im guessing the version i have is the os? which is 5.2.21889(21889.5.0.87)os

thats the cause, huh? is it an older build. once we started getting 6.5 builds i got lost and dont understand all the #s.

maybe work with cmylxgo to add a little glow or change in color when in call

will take into consideration. also, I LOVE THE NEW ENERGY TASKBAR TOO!!! i have had to install my taskbar over it countless times already, but i have not wanted to. cmylxgo did a great job on it.

I hate to sound like a huge idiot, but that's probably unavoidable at this point. Perhaps I'm missing the point of what I should be seeing or something, but after installing this excellent looking piece of software I see nice new icons at the top, but I don't see my taskbar being transparent at all. Is there something that I need to do in addition to configure? If so I didn't see it reading through the thread, but I hope I just missed it as I would love to get this working as I think it is supposed to. I'm running the current Sense 2.1 SKI-ROM, CE OS 5.2.23518 Build 23518.5.5.0. Link to it is :

you need to change wallpaper using HDwalls to see the effect,you need the taskbar and softkeys skinned like the wallpaper to see the transparency of the icons built into this taskbar or go to your start menu>settings>today and select a different theme that will change the colors of the taskbar and soft keys from black which is the default on ski (miss that rom)

i installed this taskbar - soft reset. now the only icon i get in my taskbar is the bluetooth icon, start button, and the drop down for amt of memory in use. i'm running window mobile 6.5 on my TP2. did i do something wrong? I dont even have the "x" in the upper right corner to close out of app's, and i cannot get to "all settings" either. so i cant uninstall this. any suggestions/help would be appreciated. i hope i dont have to hard reset my device.

did you have any taskbar cab's installed prior... all should be removed....what ROM are you using?

i had uninstalled any previously installed taskbars (all previous ones failed). i did a hard reset. i am running win mobile 6.5. i'm a little paranoid now to reinstall this taskbar, heheh.

Isnt windows mobile 6.5 a ROM? I'm obviously a noob - I thought that was my ROM. I haven't done anything to it (other than minor tweaks), other than put 6.5 on it, after I got it.

hmmmmmm..... i am wondering why this isnt working with stock ROM you have.... windows Mobile 6.5 is the operation system. the ROM is what it is build on.....will see if i can locate the problem... is this working for anyone else with a stock ROM?

I'm on AT&T with the stock winmo 6.5 rom (I have the tilt 2 world phone version), and am having what sounds like the same problem as gunner252. whenever I try to get to the start menu, phone locks for a few seconds, and then nothing happens. I can still run programs from file explorer, and everything else seems to work except the start menu. as such I can't get into settings to remove installation or anything. is there a way to revert to the default notification icons without having to flash the whole phone? or a way to get into settings without using the start menu?

Ditto. I'm running WinMo 6.5 VzW OEM Update. Uninstalled imnuts Custom Taskbar for 6.5.3 and installed this one and I'm not seeing any of the graphics. I can't even get into the settings via HTC Settings tab to uninstall it.

I'm hoping not to have to do a hard reset. Any suggestions?

FYI, I was able to uninstall 1.4 via Activesync in case anyone else experiences this issue and doesn't want to hard reset.

just to be clear i have installed and uninstalled using energyROM with no problem. i produce my cabs in WinCE, and have it setup to be able to uninstall as well

No insult intended....however, stock rom ppl like me trying this great looking taskbar do not get the opportunity to uninstall it because the windows start menu doesn't respond after installation. So we can't even get into the settings->remove programs section to uninstall it.

Anyway, I just tried 1.5beta and the same issue. Can't see the graphics (icons) and start menu button doesn't respond.

I really hope you can figure this out coz I really would like to use this on my phone.

Here you go Big. Sorry it took me so long. These are the files from the VzW OEM 6.5 update. The only files I couldn't find on my device were MessagingRes.dll and shellres.192.dll.0409.mui

Hope this helps. Can't wait to see the outcome.
