Any way you can post a screenshot? I may have screwed something up when converting values in the cpr from VGA to QVGA. That's good to know about you being able to use the welcomecenter GUID. That should help anyone else who is using that ROM or a similarly built one.

Cool...thanks for posting those. I updated the first post with a link to your post and I took down the files I posted and put a link there too so people will be sure to download the best version.

Keep an eye out in here or on showaco's thread on XDA...he's going to try to release his revamped Titanium Weather today. It'll make it even better.

For those interested, iconspedia is a good site for icons. You'll just have to resize them.

woohoo! that is my favorite plugin! i just did a lot of **** on this... made a contacts panel, made a custom internet panel to open up iris, and made a program panel!

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

FYI...I posted this in the copper thread but it's worth duplicate posting here:

This is a nice blackish 6.5 theme. It's not quite black, but the best I've seen so far. This caught my eye too.

If i go back into configurator it is greyed out again. Any ideas. I'm guessing it's something easy, and I'm just over tired. I'll try back in the morning.

That seems to have been half of the problem. My panels now stay in the configurator as enabled, but I cannot see them on my home screen. I feel like I'm getting close that lightbulb moment, but I can only repeat the process so many times. I tried Welcome Screen GUID with no luck, anyone else have any thoughts?

Hafrust 04-11-2009 04:52 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Are you sure you copied the welcomecenter GUID to the correct registry location? You should be copying from HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome and pasting to HKLM\Security\CHome\Default Settings. When you say you can't see them on the home screen, are they there, but invisible when not highlighted, or not there at all?

Ok. That must have been the problem, i was using the GUID from the earlier post. When i copied my GUID from welcome center it came up. Now, i've got a panel that says "getting started", and my contacts are in there, but the icons are wrong. I'll have to double check that i installed your CPR files.

Hafrust 04-11-2009 05:31 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

OK...sounds like you've got it. The cpr files will definitely take care of the "getting started" and fix the icon issue.

I'm assuming that you have at least one invisible panel then?

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

I re-downloaded and re-installed your .cpr files, and its working like a charm! Thank's a million for your patience! The only thing I can't do is edit the panel, I am gathering that this is from the GUID. Can I use the same GUID over and over?

Edit: Seems to have worked. Rock On!

Hafrust 04-11-2009 08:52 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Yeah...I really need to re-write some stuff in the first post and add some more details like that. Using the GUID from the welcomecenter will prevent you from being able to edit it later on. A workaround that can be done is to copy your welcomecenter GUID somewhere so you won't lose it, create another new panel (doesn't matter what you name it - you'll just use it for it's GUID), copy the GUID from this new panel to the one you are wanting to edit, save changes, soft reset (or refresh CHome), and then put the welcomecenter GUID back on the panel so it will show back up on the home screen. OK.....Clear as mud? It sounds like such a chore when I type it out...

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

This is what I did to add a contacts Tab. I actually started from a new flash because I made such a mess the first couple of times.

Adding People tab with Contact pictures:

-Disable Titanium.
-Open CHome Configurator.
-Select Menu>Panel>New to create a new panel.
-When the Name dialog box pops up name your panel I chose "Speed Dial" hit ok
-Highlight your new "speed dial" panel by clicking it once
-Select Menu>Panel>Customize.
-Select Menu>Page>New.
-Type "Speed Dial" in Collapsed Field
-Select Menu>Template>Contact Dialer
-Select the first contact you would like to add
-click yes to use picture if a pic is stored otherwise you can chose a pic
-Repeat Menu>Page>New and Menu>Template Contact Dialer for every contact you want to add
-When you have all the contacts you want in their click Done
-Tap on Speed Dial again and then tap show (left soft key).
-Highlight the CLinks panel and select Menu>Panel>Disable>CLinks
-Exit the program (make sure you close the program by using Menu>Exit or your changes will not be saved) No need to reboot yet.
-Now you will need to open whatever regedit software you use. Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome.
-Open ExtensibilityXML. In the string, you will need to insert the name of the panel you just created in the place you want it to be displayed on the CHome home screen. The plugins are separated by a ";"
-Save your changes and soft reset.

-In your registry editor, go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Clinks Copy the string value for GUID.
Go to HKLM\Security\CHome\DefaultSettings\Speed Dial Paste the GUID string value that you copied. Make sure it overrites the old GUID and doesnt give a GUID[1] if it does erase the old GUID and rename the new one.
-Copy the .cpr files from the attached cab and replace the existing ones in your Windows folder (thanks to Hafrust for the Cab).

Soft reset and re-enable Titanium.

To add or remove contacts disable Titanium, go into configurator and customize your speed dial tab. Hopefuly this helps everyone out, 99% of the credit goes to Hafrust and this thread! I just customized the information for a speed dial panel. Enjoy

Makes perfect sense! Especially after 2 days of tinkering!

lol...yeah, it makes sense after doing it for a while, but I wonder how many people come in here, read the first post, and say WTF....screw that!

lelalouf 04-11-2009 09:17 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

I've done the tinkering too. I made a device lock panel and a people panel, both show up but people text is invisible. Any ideas why and how I can fix it?

Hafrust 04-11-2009 09:23 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

So I know exactly what's going on, when you say the text is invisible, the panel is there but invisible unless you highlight it? Or did I misunderstand? If that is the case, were you trying to use the same GUID for both panels you created?

chuggy 04-11-2009 09:25 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Once you are done editing the file in configurator, go back in and copy the welcome center GUID and paste it over your "invisible panel" GUID in the security section.

chuggy 04-11-2009 09:28 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Hafrust do you know the default icon size? I notice some icons are cut off in my Programs Panel.

Hafrust 04-11-2009 09:29 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Not off hand...but I'll look for it. Is it just certain icons, or all of them?

Edit: All of the default icons I have are .png's that are 60x60.

lelalouf 04-11-2009 09:33 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Yes the panel is there. All my contacts are there and I can call them, but I don't see the text that says people. And I've added it to the ExtensibilityXML.

Hafrust 04-11-2009 09:37 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Did you try copying the GUID from the welcomecenter panel as chuggy mentioned?

lelalouf 04-11-2009 10:14 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

yes, I am using the welcomecenter GUID for both panels I created?

Hafrust 04-11-2009 10:23 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Alright, I see. The GUID for welcomecenter can only be used for one active panel at a time, otherwise it will cause the problem you are seeing. If you are using a VGA device, you can use the CPR files attached in the first post and use the GUID from the settings panel as well, instead of using the welcomecenter GUID twice. If you have a QVGA device, then unfortunately there aren't any CPR's posted in this thread for your device that have the information for the settings panel.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

i'm on touch pro.

Hafrust 04-11-2009 10:27 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

You should be good to go then. You just need the cpr files from post 1 and then use the GUID from the settings panel for one of your custom panels, just like you did with the one from the welcomecenter.

lelalouf 04-11-2009 10:29 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Awesome. Trying that now. Just waiting on reboot! Can I add any more active panels after these two or do I need to remove some of the others?

lelalouf 04-11-2009 10:30 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Cool it worked but it is showing text as settings not people.

I'm not aware of any other GUID's that can be used for new panels without editing dll files, which I have absolutely no knowledge of doing. I can point you in the right direction if that's your thing though. You can add pages to the Launcher panel and rename it though, thus basically giving you 3 editable panels. You can make changes to the launcher panel in chome configurator (listed as clinks) without having to mess with GUID's and cpr files...it's ready to be altered as is.

Oh crap....I may have not changed the cpr file to reflect the actual name of the panel entered b/c I had planned on using mine for settings all along. Give me a few minutes and I'll take a look at my cpr files and I'll tell you exactly where to change it. Sorry about that.

lelalouf 04-11-2009 10:34 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Thanks. i appreciate that.

No thanks! I'm definately not into that either. I just know how to read and follow directions.. lol

Hafrust 04-11-2009 10:46 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Ok...go to the following section in your cpr files. You will need to do this in both.

Quote:

<Layer ID="SettingsCondensed" Visible="False" Width="480" Height="68">
<Layer ID="Page">
<!-- Plugin Label -->
<!-- Text ID="PluginLabel" Left="20" Top="8" Width="440" Height="68" FontFamily="Tahoma" FontSize="18" FontStyle="Regular" Wrap="False" VerticalAlignment="Top" Trimming="EllipsisCharacter" InnerTextType="Resource" Text="cmhomeres.dll,1019">
<TextStage TextOffsetType="TextOffsetDropBottomRight" Color="#00000000" TextOffset="1" BlurFactor="3" Alpha="1.0"/>
<TextStage TextOffsetType="TextOffsetNone" Color="#FFFFFFFF"/>
</Text -->
<!-- Title or Condensed Line 1 -->
<Text ID="ts" Text="settings" Left="20" Top="8" Width="440" Height="68" FontFamily="Tahoma" FontSize="18" FontStyle="Regular" Wrap="False" VerticalAlignment="Top"
Change the text I highlighted to "Text 1" (Include quotation marks). That should do it. I'm reflashing my phone so I can't test it yet. If anyone attempting this is unfamiliar with notepad, you can find this section easily by opening the cpr in notepad, clicking the cursor at the top of the document, press ctrl f, type settingscondensed in the search field, and it should take you right there.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Has anyone had any sucess with a Programs panel? I made one that had like 5 programs, and now i'm getting an error message when i try to launch File Explorer. I'm just wondering if you or anyone else has seen similiar issues, or if i mixed up a reg setting.

lelalouf 04-11-2009 11:10 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Rebooting now. Will let you know in a few if it worked.

lelalouf 04-11-2009 11:12 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Hafrust,

It gave me "Profile:Unknown" as the panel title.

Hafrust 04-11-2009 11:23 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Ok...I took the lazy route on that edit. I'll post a more extensive edit for you to try in a few minutes. If you don't have time to mess with it, I'll test it out and get it working once I get my ROM configured the way I want it. In the meantime, check this out:

Titanium Weather Version 3 Released! I haven't had time to see how this affects any changes that have been made to custom panels. I'm assuming any changes to the launcher panel will be lost, but I don't know how, if any, the other sections in the cpr's have been changed. This is on my to-do list in the morning.

Download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...51&postcount=1

lelalouf 04-11-2009 11:30 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm also tweaking the cpr file to see what will work.
GOT IT! I just had to change the word "settings" not "ts" Text="settings", to people or whatever you want it to be.

Thanks for the help.

Am I correct in assuming that I can remove any of the other panels, copy the guid from clinks and edit them to be a different panel (or hide them and make a new panel?)
ie: If I want to remove live search, I can hide that and use the guid from that to reflect a new panel?
