What GUID is your CWelcomeCenter?

I'm not sure if you were directing that question to me, or the previous post. One or some of the 6.5 Vogue ROM's have the welcomecenter removed, so they don't have any registry entries pertaining to it. If you are needing mine, just let me know and I'll post it up.

I was actually asking for anyone/everyone. ;) I'm curious if the GUID is device specific. I've looked through the registry for other mentions of the working GUIDs, but nothing. Starting to think it's connected to a .dll/config file somewhere else.

Mine is {97343B9B-5BB5-474d-98AA-E4CD2DD0A873}.

I think everything is connected to cmhome.dll and bronzerez.dll. That's about where my lack of knowledge forces me to stop. New developments here (starting on post 254) are really promising! now I know what I'm going to be doing over the weekend.

If I'm not mistaken, weren't those all of the ones for smartphones? I thing ours may vary a little bit.

You can take a look at my VGA cpr in post 1 and probably figure out what needs to be changed. And my launcher panel icons show up when I add pages, so I'm not sure what's going on there. It has to be something in the cpr though. I wish I still had my Mogul to play around with.

Actually nothing, now even my launcher panel icons show up fine... now i gotta find some nice 22x22 .png files for all my launcher programs.. gotta check out what the icon pack you have on page 1 holds...

i will give it a shot now with the settings layout from the sliding panel and report back.. and waiting for that new version from showaco - hopefully mnemonique can covert it to qvga soon enough...

If you haven't already, be sure and post in there so mnemonique knows about it too, just in case it was missed.

GUID is the same as mine. So I think you are correct - those .dlls are key.

I decided to go with a speed dial panel, leaving any settings as additional pages for the launcher. I still have to change the GUID to a editable to add new contacts, but don't do that very often.

Can anyone fill us in on the process for this? It's the only change I want to make and can't figure it out.

BTW, after trying the weather add-on I had to remove it because it moved the Wi-Fi name to just above the "test" slot.

So close, yet so far...

That was the benefit in that extra effort. The way you currently have it set up, where it's one or the other, I think you can get the icons to be displayed by editing your cpr's at the Operator Services Expanded section and change "Icon" to "Image 1". If you are using the GUID of cwelcomecenter, you would also need to edit them at the CWelcomeCenter Expanded section and change "Icon" to "Image 1".

Also, if you are using the "launcher" panel, you can edit it's name in CHome Configurator. I have mine changed to "programs" and have pages added for my frequently used programs. That was why I wanted to keep that as well as adding a Contacts panel.

i did all of this... followed option 2 word for word... still having problems :(

changed the .cpr files to include the settings panel, but still no dice - the registry GUID was not sticking - i typed in the guid from the settings panel to the contacts panel and soft-rest my phone - but the contact dialer panel was still not showing up - and my contacts dialer GUID was reset to the clinks panel...

how can i make that GUID stick in the registry ????

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

Are you copying the GUID to HKLM\Security\CHome\Default Settings\Custom Panel Name? Or are you trying to copy it to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Custom Panel Name? Whatever GUID is in HKLM\Security will override the one in HKLM\Software.

Go to HKLM\Security\Default Settings\Contacts and post what value you have for the string in GUID.

i got it
i see what was happening. the one in "security" was actually changing the one in "software"... just took the one from the welcomecenter in security and put it in the custom panel in security and it worked :) thank you so much for the help

also: myshinynewtouch, i will address your question when i get home from work (sorry, i'm in a hurry!)

If you highlight the clock pane and are connected to wifi, it will say "Wi-Fi: XXXX" where XXXX is the name of the network. If I install the weather pane, when the clock pane is highlighted the WiFi info shows up just above the text pane.

I just want Opera and weather on the home screen, is that so much to ask?

When I say i can't change my titanium setup i mean that i can't move the widgets around, take them out, add them, remove them, etc...

NOW, I can move and take them out, I CANNOT add any widgets besides the origs (i cannot add settings, or my own custom widget)

I've never been able to add my own widget or anything like Settings, etc etc.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I am using the Titanium Customizer

Please check your registry and see if you have anything for cwelcomecenter under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome. People have mentioned that one of the 6.5 Vogue ROM's has that removed. It would help to know if yours is that way too. That will tell us which way to proceed. And just to clarify, you are using a Mogul as your profile indicates, correct?

I have the CWelcomeCenter on there. It comes up when i first booted the ROM, it's in the registry now but not active.

I am using a Mogul, I usually update my sig and profile freq if anything changed.

OK...just wanted to make sure I didn't give you bad advice. Have you followed all of the instructions as listed in the first post? I posted QVGA CPR files last night that you can use if you don't want to edit yours yourself. Please double check that you have done everything as described in post 1 (Option 2) and you shouldn't have any problems at all. I'm getting ready to leave work and will try to check in a bit later, but no guarantees. Let us know how this works out for you and if you have any other problems come up with it.

I found this out in XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...64#post3601164
its ok some of the panels do not work becuz it is for t-mobile phones but i installed it on my touch with miniweather and titanium weather the miniweather gives you detailed info, the one problem is the panels don work unless you use the right soft key or push the middle button which i figure is enter, Hope fully someone can mess with the reg and get to work better im not good at reg , all in all its good.

update:
woohoo, got everything exactly how i want it:
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...Screen01-2.jpg

i noticed that after you paste welcomecenter's GUID, you can no longer edit it via configurator... so what i did was close chome, paste settings' GUID onto the custom panel (make sure to take note of the one that's in there before you paste!), open chome then close it again (the custom panel wil be invisible again), then open configurator and you should be able to edit it again. when you're done, just put back welcomecenter's GUID and you should be good to go... (makes me wonder if pasting settings' GUID to one of the built-in chome panels will allow you to edit it.... *ponder*)

Yep. If you use the GUID of an editable panel (ie CLinks), one can edit the other panels using the Configurator. Of course, you could also just edit entries via the registry, once you've figured out how they work. =)

One can also refresh CHome with this app: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yzj2ig3xzza

I'm having an issue get the configurator to show my custom panel. I can't figure out why. I've made all the changes necessary, and in the configuration screen I see my New "contacts" panel, but when I click show and reset it never actually shows. If i go back into configurator it is greyed out again. Any ideas. I'm guessing it's something easy, and I'm just over tired. I'll try back in the morning.

strra - i even got my contacts dialer to work - used the GUID of welcome center which hafrust posted couple of posts ago - but it shows up as "getting started" and i don't see the picture no more (that i guess is cause my .cpr files don't have the welcome center stuff in them )

"By using the GUID {F0A1B246-6E64-40cd-8E15-347D29FF6F18} you can add multiple plugin panels without sacrificing existing panels" - i tried using this GUID which was supposed to be add many panels - but it completely removed my existing invisible contacts panel...

did anyone have the "getting started" problem - i remember reading about it someplace but i don't know what it is for..

Yeah..."Getting Started" is what the welcomecenter panel is set to show by default. If you have the adjusted cwelcomecenter section in your .cpr it will show whatever you named the panel. I included that section in the qvga cpr files I posted if you want to take a look and try copying it into yours. I thought your ROM didn't have the registry entries for cwelcomecenter? Or am I confusing you with another Vogue user?

Hmmm...that's odd. Strra is using that ROM and didn't have any problems with it. Maybe try going into your windows directory and renaming the existing cpr files, then try copying the modified cpr files into windows? If it will allow you to do that, you should be able to go back in after soft resetting and delete the old cpr's that you renamed.

OK...here are the QVGA modified cpr files. I did NOT add the section for the "Settings" Panel b/c the values there in my VGA cpr's seemed odd and I was bound to screw it up if I tried converting it. If you want to enable the "Settings" panel, you will need to add that section to the Titanium_240x320 and Titanium_320x240 cpr's. You can compare the VGA versions I posted to these QVGA versions to see the difference between them. I don't have a QVGA device to test them on, so that's why I'm leaving it to you all. What these CPR's WILL allow you to do in their current state is add a new panel using the welcomecenter GUID, plus it will fix it to where your icons will be displayed.

Hafrust - just tested ur .cpr and they are the bomb - now i got everything to display - my contacts, my programs - everything and with the right pictures too...

one small problem though - my programs is a little off - as in it is indented a little bit outside and its not in line with the rest - what layout should i modify to get it to be in line.. ???

no ur not - i don't have welcome center - but i guess the GUID are still probably in the .dll file even though they are not visible on my today screen.. that means i can use the welcome center if i have the .cpr modified to use welcome center :) :) which is why i am able to use it as a contacts dialer... :) yahooooooo.....

now all i gotta do is tweak the my programs a little bit to align properly and i will have the proper .cpr and registry settings to keep....
