Cannot get RUU to install the Titan Radio!

I recently received a new xv6800 (my other one had some water damage). I had installed a GPS radio and custom rom on that, but like anything, with time one tends to forget

Well, I am back now, and I need to get some GPS action on this new phone. I installed the Alltell HTC image that put the latest GPS radio on my phone, and cooked a 6.1 GPS enabled ROM, did the QPST edits, and I still have no GPS. I want to go and flash the lastest Titan image to the phone, but everytime I try, I get an error.

I have the latest radio image, that I extract to the RUU folder. I run RUU but I get an error that says I cannot use the program to update my phone. Not sure what that means. I have a card reader at work that I will try out tomorrow and see if that helps. So, I guess I have two questions.

Whats with RUU?

Whats with the Alltel HTC image and radio, and why doesnt it enable the GPS?

Re: Cannot get RUU to install the Titan Radio!

From what I can tell with your explanation of the steps you have taken, you are still running an official ROM that has not required you to unlock your phone. If this is the case, you need to unlock your phone(when you run across posts talking about SPL 2.40, this is referring to unlocking your phone). You have cooked a rom that you would like to put on your phone. That requires you to Unlock first. Here is a link to a thread that has all the info you need:

The first link is the one you will want to check out.

Re: Cannot get RUU to install the Titan Radio!

Thanks for the quick response. I did unlock the phone with olipro 2.40, and installed a custom rom. I may not have done it properly though. I am relocking now and will try again from the beginning.

Re: Cannot get RUU to install the Titan Radio!

I have had problems with using RUU's in the past. I am now an avid user of SD card flashing. If you want to flash your phone using an sd card I can give you the steps.

So at this point you have installed 1 custom ROM using the RUU and it worked, and now you are having troubles updating the radio? Which radio are you trying to upgrade to?

Re: Cannot get RUU to install the Titan Radio!

Well, now I am stuck in bootloader, and I cannot get the exitbootloader program to get me out. I killed every process I could, disabled the USB, and still no luck. It says it cannot access the usb port! Man, what a day!

Re: Cannot get RUU to install the Titan Radio!

Well, lets see what we can do. Sounds like you are doing what you are supposed to. Just to be sure...activesync usb is disabled, and when you plug your phone in, does it say USB at the bottom of the bootloader screen?

yeah, it says usb at the bottom, USB is disabled in activesync, and it says SPL-1.06.0000 at the top.

Re: Cannot get RUU to install the Titan Radio!

Ok. Lets get you the latest SPL you need to be running SPL 2.40. you can find it the the first link in the link I gave you. Run the RUU to install SPL 2.40.

EDIT: In fact the Olipro 2.40 has a self installer. You may need to re-enable usb activesync to use it....
