I would suggest trying one of the other GPS programs in the kitchen to see if one of them make the GPS work. Try HTC GPS tool. Also when you use google maps make suree you click "use GPS" in the menu. I know you probably did but just wanted to make sure.

Re: Gps Not Working Please Help????

I have been using the GPS on my phone for several months and flashed about a dozen ROMs. I just received a replacement XV6800. It came with the 3.37.75 radio and the 3.57.605.1 ROM like the ones in the MR1 update. I unlocked it, loaded the 3.42.50 radio and a ROM I had been running on the old phone that uses the nuerom3-206w kitchen posted by Mr. Obvious. The GPS had been working fine on the old unit.

The unlocking using nueSPL-2.47 followed by the radio loading followed by the ROM loading all seemed to go okay. The phone has all the programs on it that I loaded and everything works except that I cannot get the GPS to work. The HTC tool, Google maps, and bafGPS toggle all fail to see any GPS signal. "Location" is on, all settings are correct. AGPS in the registry is set to "4".

I have reloaded everything a couple of times each and there is no change.

Help!

I have exactly the same problem -- replacement phone, and all the rest of the above.

Any resolution? Is VZW up to something?

Reflash and follow the aGPS tutorial here. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...VerizonAGPSFix

If you want standalone GPS you have to downgrade then flash custom. Look for my post from below link. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=52683

Thanks, but I already did that. However, I did download and install a Comm Manager" that might have broken both my hardware WiFi control and GPS. So, I flashed to Nuerom 201M -- via sd card. Still -- no joy. For some reason, GPS viewer reports that it "Can not open COMPORT." I have used the scan feature on GPS Viewer and can't find a port with the GPS parked on it. So... I changed the port to Com5 from Com4. Scanned with GPS viewer again and it found "none" on Com5 -- strange.

I flash fairly often, so I have the aGPS fix bookmarked, even though the aGPS is supposed to carry over to a new ROM.

Is location turned on from 911 only? Are you sure the gps setting are correct under settings then system then gps settings. I say hard reset then reflash. I think something got messed up. Also I don't know of any comm managers that control gps.

Just did that... hard reset and reflash...

Yes, I keep checking for "Location on." I have turned it on and off.

I don't know of any comm managers that would do that either. However, it seemed as though things were working prior to the installation.

This was a replacement unit. I believe that it might have had MR1 on it. Does that mean I should flash back to a way earlier ROM -- not radio. I am now using 3.42.50.

??

Please see attached screen shots. Thanks!

If you want standalone gps and not agps then you have to flash back. I would downgrade anyhow because of the Verizon limitations. You have to flash back to a early rom and radio. Do below even though it states for Sprintized phones this is the correct instructions. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21161
