Re: nueROM3-206 w\ PPCKitchen BuildOS (Updated 2/11/08)

Maybe it has to do with the notification area at the bottom of BuildOS. I noticed before that there was space at the bottom that would not expand to fill my screen, but there was nothing there. Now the notification area fills that portion. So maybe the 20931 kitchen was replacing the other all along?

They must have updated BuildOS on me. Can anyone else confirm? I don't have a Titan anymore so I can't say but if you can I'll talk to dan about getting some updates.

im guessing that when the NO2 files are put in the kitchen, it makes the Build OS that it needs to update.. i experienced the same thing..I chose not to update..

hey, don't worry about wince.nls getting overwrote, as long as there is one, you are good to go. everything should work same as before, is anyone experiencing catastrophic failure? if so, I could hammer off a working set

I initially started doing this a week ago by following GaMedics posts. I can post my build this weekend if people are still having trouble. I have been changing my build once a day, mainly because I want to see what different features offer.

Radio version: 3.42.40

Thank you againg MrObvious and crew for putting this together.

BuildOS has already made the "projects" folder, so you, and I and probably all the ones that say we didn't have problems, made the adjustment to get the .txt file to show on inital BOS screen. But maybe the ones that are having troubles didn't????.....

Didn't notice that before if it was there. But that would seem to make adding the NueROM 206 .rar to the Kitchens folder rather pointless.
Can anyone comment on the differences between these 2 kitchens?

Does anyone know if this still builds a working ROM using the files in post 3?

Yes...

I got the same message, and when I look at Start-Settings-System-About it shows "CE OS 5.2.20931 (Build 20931.1.5.0)" I thought the overwite was causing the OS to not get updated. If this is a wrong assumption, I'll need to figure out what I did wrong putting the new files into BuildOS.

nuerom is based on 20931, so that's what it should show, as long as you have the high memory kernel option, all is good

Re: nueROM3-206 w\ PPCKitchen BuildOS (Updated 2/11/08)

I built a ROM with this for my friend's Mogul and one for mine. Mine works fine, but on hers, pushing "Add" on the contacts screen does nothing, The button highlights for a second, but nothing happens. Trying to add a city to the Weather screen doesn't do anything either.

Could this be a glitch in this version, or is there an installed app that could have caused this?

Try comparing your selections and seeing which one it could be. Maybe try posting them up here?

It seems to be something in M2D version 21 (ELFIN). Some people at XDA are having the same problems with both 21 and 22, but no solution yet.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Sorry mugsy77.

And yes, the ROM is very clean. If you want I will upload my NBH if there are enough requests.

First off get access to the donator panel of nuerom.com. You will have to donate via PayPal (sorry). Second, download nueROM Unified Kitchen 206 and place it in BuildOS under Kitchens\nueROM and then just download the files from post 3 like I said earlier. Then make a new selections.txt based off of the new choices you have. Then make the selections, ignore the warnings that pop up (push yes to override), and you have a built ROM.

Re: nueROM3-206 w\ PPCKitchen BuildOS (Updated 2/11/08)

Hey Mr. Obvious.... I am now finding that my Comm Manager locks up if I try to switch to speaker phone, etc. I thought you or others had said that this particular ROM had fixed that issue; but I am finding it not to be so on my XV6800. For instance, when I click the speaker phone button in Comm Manager while on a call, the call keeps working but the 6800 simply locks up. When done with the call I have to soft-reset.

Is there a specific Comm Manager (skin) that I should be using that doesn't have this problem? Thanks in advance (otherwise the build seems to work fine).

Actually that's the dialer. Try a Carlo$ dialer and see if it works for you. There is probably a cab file that would work for you.

I did a search on this Carlo$ dialer but I never found anything on it. Got a url or somewhere to search for this? Or what about another dialer that works?

Try cooking one of the dialers that are in BuildOS. If that don't work, then IDK.

I kinda did exactly that. Things seemed just screwy - not only the dialer, but the top bar icons sometimes didn't show up, messaging (tmail) wasn't running on a regular basis, etc etc., so I rebuilt the ROM (using the updated BuildOS stuff) and installed the plain Vogue dialer. That works fine now, and the ROM seems much more stable.

The only thing that seems weird is that my Verizon internet (*777) password doesn't seem to want to 'stick' - i.e. it gets cleared out at every soft boot. But I will worry about that later.

Thanks!
