Can't Flash Via SD

I have an XV600 with a build date of November 2007, and I'm running no2chem's unified kitchen on the MFG 2.40 bootloader. Now, when I format my 1GB card as fat32 with allocation size of 1024, and place any file named TITAIMG.nbh on it, the bootloader won't recognize it.

The sign of an improperly formatted card is "failed to load file," right? Mine simply does not recognize the SD card, it never goes to the flashing screen. This is my 3rd replacement, my 1st and 2nd devices flashed fine, but my 3rd and 4th have had exactly the same problem in that they did not recognize an SD card in bootloader mode. Flashing via RUU is inconvenient, because I have to go bootloader 1.2 to flash a radio, and then it hard resets.

What I'm assuming is the VZW has somehow disabled this capability, though it seems unlikely. Is there something I'm missing? I've tried formatting the card every which way, using nuespl, my computer, and the command line.

Re: Can't Flash Via SD

It seems unlikely that they disabled it, but I don't have a better answer other than try another card. Is this the same card you used before to put ROMs on you previous devices? Is you phone recognizing the card under regular operation?

Re: Can't Flash Via SD

I downgraded my bootloader to 1.2 to flash to Radio 3.42.50 through an RUU. I then pulled out my battery and stuck it back in then let my custom ROM boot up and quickly get it connected to ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center to use Olipro 2.4 and let do it's thing. You have to do it quick because a newer ROM with an old bootloader will keep restarting after a period of time, so don't dilly dally, connect quick and get to working.

Better yet, just always buy a cheap SD card to avoid usinf RUU's and bootloader

Re: Can't Flash Via SD

Yeah, it's the same card, if I remember correctly. It just seems odd that it completely does not recognize it, yes it works during normal operation. Improper formatting or an sdhc card causes the bootloader to return a file not found error, right?

PDAPhoneJunkie, my problem isn't that I don't know how to flash it, I've done that before. Olipro 1.20 usually gives you about a minute at the today screen, plenty of time to run the 2.40 unlocker, but I'd rather just flash via SD, since that wouldn't require a hard reset, I'm too lazy to apply all my setttings again.

I feel like my 1gb should do the trick, this is irritating.

Re: Can't Flash Via SD

Try another card.
SanDisk 512MB or 1GB never failed for me and they are cheap now at NewEgg.
Good luck and Merry Christmas

2.40 is your problem. You should be using 2.47

Yeah 2.47 does nothing but lose you MFG commands. Bootloaders 1.2 and 2.4 both have SD flashing capability. I don't know if the stock bootloaders do.. probably, though.

Did you actually upgrade to 2.47, use the utility inside of 2.47 to format the card and then try flashing? Doesn't sound like it.
