Re: Custom Taskbar Icons on the Titan/6800/Mogul

Just an FYI, but this did work for my Sprint Touch without any problems. When I get home, I may have some icons you could use for the battery that are percentage and will work with a QVGA phone. Their from a set that I found here on PPCGeeks late last year.

Re: Custom Taskbar Icons on the Titan/6800/Mogul

I also saw a Kaiser ROM over at XDA that had some very clear, colored battery icons. Here's the link to that. All we would need to do is extract the phcanoverbmp.dll from that ROM and we should be able to get the icons.

Here's the link to the battery icons that I use. I like these cause there nice and clean. I've thought about redoing the color on them for ages. maybe we can collaborate on this one. If my 20 month old gives me a chance...

i saw the battery you're using and it neat but not my style. i like this battery and i already have the percentage displayed via quickmenu. So its either fix it or find a way to get rid of it.

I can't see the screenshots on xda for some reason but when i can get to my computer i'll check that out. The other thing i've yet to try is editing the the battery icon from the .dll. I'd love to collaborate as i am new to this and could probably learn something

Edit: Nah, I'm trying to keep it 3d lookin I'm gonna see if I can edit it or find another icon and replace it.

Try these files. If you've already made backups of your original ones, you can just copy these over to your \Windows directory on your phone with TC or Resco (I prefer Resco), and then soft reset.

One thing, if you use the shellres.96.dll.mui file, it will change your start icon to the HTC logo. Let me know if you get stuck. These should change everything but the calendar events reminder (no one has found a way to do that yet), and the signal lost exclamation point (I'm working on that one...)

BTW, do you have anything installed that gives you your battery charge in single percentage points?

I havent done the percentage no. Volume still hasnt changed but i now have signal, ev and 1x, and sms alert. I have changed the reg to show battery rather then clock to see if thats my problem. But that didnt do it either. So currently i just need volume and battery now. Thanxs for your help bud.

Hmmmm. The phcanoverbmp.dll should have changed your battery and volume icons. That's weird. Glad that all the rest worked.

Try installing the cab on this post. It'll give you the battery in single percentage points. That may be why the battery icons and speaker icons in the phcanoverbmp.dll aren't working.

FYI: Your e-mail, speakerphone, multiple alerts and missed call alert should also all now be changed.

Is it showing the clock instead of the battery, or are u not getting the different battery icon?

Try installing this cab (thanks to Arthemus at XDA). It will put the phcanoverbmp.dll that I used as my base on your phone. I later pulled a copy of the .dll and made a few more changes to it. That's the one I posted earlier. This cab should give you a good clean install and give you the volume and battery icons.

Lot's of experimentation and messing up things on my phone... ](*,)

And yes, you should now be able to use any phcanoverbmp.dll. Good luck and glad I could help!

Google Resco explorer or Total Commander. Using those you should be able to over ride the write protection. If you are just using the pre-installed file manager, you'll never get anywhere.

Glad to do it! I've gotten a lot and and a lot of help from the PPCGeeks community over the past year, so it's nice to be able to help others out in return.

Follow the directions on the first post of this thread and it should work. My Bluetooth headset is broken right now and I haven't been able to replace it due to getting laid off from my job. The short story is that I haven't been able to test the bluetooth icons yet but from what I've read here and at XDA, this should work.

I've noticed that the Bluetooth is still using the original Icons. Even after dropping in the images. Have I missed something?

Edit: nm, I'm an idiot. Missing the Opal. (Least I'll admit it.)

Can someone help please........ When I install the Opal Phone Canvas on my titan, it doesnt work or display properly. it tries to use the factory and the opal in one dialer and the only way to get the bluetooth isons to display is to use the opal dialer. Is anyone else experiencing this?????????

joemorin73 12-10-2008 12:10 AM

Re: Custom Taskbar Icons on the Titan/6800/Mogul

You must install the dialer, not only the canvas. I'm assuming, you need to burn a new ROM.

I was trying to change my battery icons back to the OEM, I uninstalled the DarkLord Battery Meter cab and my battery now shows full bars on it all the time. Does anyone know what the original settings are for Reg entries below that had to be changed to get the above cab to show battery percentages correctly???

Make sure your registry says the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\security\ResOver\Bitmaps]
"BatteryIconLevels"=dword:65 (Hex) or 101 (Dec)
"BatteryIconIdStart"=dword:3e9 (Hex) or 1001 (Dec)
"BaseDll"="phcanOverbmp.dll"
"BaseId"=dword:0

Okay, here are QVGA versions of square icons that Tsowen/Brock1909/HTCLeener/Darklord69/Carnero worked on.

These will change all of the same Icons we've been messing with, but will also be changing the Notify icon as well!

Enjoy!

If you prefer the icon look that I posted earlier this month, HTCLeener has a Notify Icon that matches. I've tested it on my Touch (Vogue) and it works!
