Bluetooth Icon from Touch Pro
 

Is there any way to get the top bar Bluetooth icon from the Touch Pro?

I remember asking this prior and seeing the icon on some non-touch devices. It would seem applicable seeing this on the Touch Pro.

Is that some addon application? As none of those icons looked that way when I played with the Touch Pro in the Sprint Store...

there's probably a way to do the exact same thing through WisbarAdvance. it skins the top bar, but the only problem i could see would be coming across the icons, and memory issues on the titan. but i wouldnt doubt that you could do it manually through dumping the (dll?), and using reshack to change the icon in the same process as the ones in those links. you would just need a lower resolution.

well i just took the plunge, all the icons are do-able. the only thing that doesn't display right is the percentage over the battery. its just garbled madness, but that ok cuz i already have a percent there from quick menu. give me a few minutes and I'll post a screenie.

Edit: the bluetooth icon isn't the greatest, i'm assuming cuz its vga, i'm lookin for a different qvga one now. but here's the screenie. Oh and something made my wait cursor huge, and the settings icons are huge.

If you are using the opal dialer you can do the following. If you are not using the opal dialer then go to my post and install it. Beware you will not have 911 dialing.

Now download and unzip the attachment. I have re sized the VGA Icons to 16x16 which is for Qvga. Use resco or total commander and copy them over to the windows directory and overwrite the ones in rom. Soft reset with software soft reset and you will have the new looking BT icon. However this icon has been around for years. I use to use it for wisbar advanced skins a long long time ago.

I am glad that there is some interest in getting the bluetooth icon on the taskbar.

I followed the instructions from the link in my first post but I dont get any icons on the taskbar on my Titan. It seems like there may be some registry differences between the Touch Pro and Titan. This link to my knowledge simply makes it possible to just change the icons.

If anyone with a Touch Pro can check out their Taskbar registry info to see how it addresses the bluetooth icon, we could try to import that to the Titan to get that Icon.

It has to do with the dialer and phcanOverbmp.dll You can make it work with the opal dialer but I am not sure about different dialers.

Ok, gotcha on the dialer. Does your Opal dialer do everything but the 911? I wonder if there is a way to drop the bluetooth icon part into the working Vogue dialer?

Yes everything works except 911 as far as I know. Also Its it's not my opal dialer I found it and tested it. As for the Vogue dialer working, I doubt it.

Thanks for the info. I just downloaded the Opal dialer and some of the skins. I am about to try it out, it looks cool.

Lets keep this thread going and hopefully get a dialer completely working with 911 and the BT icon.

This is what I have got going and I resized the EV and 1X Icons for the tapres.96.dll and re signed the dll file.

If anyone wants the native resolution alternative ev 1x icon download the tapres.96.dll and copy it over to windows and then soft reset with software soft reset. Enjoy the new network status icons in Qvga format.

Ok I've resized the icons in the outres.96.dll for qvga. they're the messaging icons. Copy the attached .dll from the .zip to your /windows folder. soft-reset to apply

OK so here's where I'm at with this whole deal here. I've resized the messaging icons from the touch-pro thread we've been referencing, those are correct now. Thanx to mikee4fun the bluetooth, 1x and ev icons are correct. However, as you can see in my previous screen i can't get the percentage above the battery to display properly, although when its plugged in and charging the plug displays right I also have a few oversized icons that i don't know what .dll they're in. if you look at the following screens, you can see the properly displayed plug, The oversized icons are as follows, the "person" "system" and "connections" icons under settings and the "screen" "sip" "bluetooth" and "hibernate" icons under quick menu. check em out. Also my wait cursor is still huge.

ok, i think i've found a fix for the icons that are too big in my start menu. they're in the shellres.96.dll.

Here's the kicker, i extracted the icons and found the ones i need to change, however, there's 2 different sizes in each one 64x64 and 32x32. I'm assuming that the 64x64 are the ones in the Programs and/or Settings page and the 32x32 are the ones that would be in the start menu (quick menu only normal start is fine.) which do i resize and which should get deleted? Again I'm assuming here, but i would assume resize the 32x32 to 16x16 and delete the 32x32 or do you delete the 64x64? I'm completely new to the skinning and resizing of icons so some insight would be nice.

This one has the alternate EV 1X Text without the box. Try it your gonna like it. I don't have the stock one at the moment.

Took me forever to find. I had a post with screen shots from quite a while ago. They are not my icons, they are abusalza's from XDA. Not all Icons are changed, but it sure looks nicer.

Thanks for that attachment. I am having trouble copying it into \Windows using total commander. I was able to copy the previous one in the thread. I was able to do this before. I also killed the cprog process. what else do i need to kill before doing this?

I also extracted the original tapres.96.dll from the most recent no2chem kitchen which i am running. Its attached.

I was able to get it to copy. Rename the current .dll.old and then copy=no prob.

thanks, that seemed to fix the signal icon. Everything seemed out of whack before this .dll. red x over ev icon even when connected and battery shows always plugged in. I gotta sleep on it an maybe just hard reset. I think it all started with the program installs from the link in the 1st post. Just too many revisions in Windows folder.

lol ya i confused myself a few times doing all this. I did start a thread and have everything in it if you hard reset and want to try again. Its here in titan upgrades.

My aim at this point would be to get back to stock w/out hard reset.

I am feeling a hard reset will be the only way. Too many different versions of files in the Windows DIR.

If you get that the dll file file is not signed. The one's I posted I resigned and tested and work on my Titan so I am not sure which dll you are using. The easiest way to go back to stock is simply delete the dll file/s in the windows directory and reboot. The original one will magically reappear on soft reset and you will have your original icons back. Now for the extra BT icon in the task bar you will need to uninstall the opal dialer and all will be fine.
