Opal/Jade Dialer Cab & Oem (Looks Just Like TP Dialer and Works Awesome)

5 Attachment(s)
So I been looking all day for a dialer just like the Touch Pro dialer and I finnaly found it. You get phone vibrate feedback when the call goes out and call history tab buttons. It works great on the Titan. Give it a wirl and let me know what you think. This is the best dialer ever for the Titan for me.

BTW looks like 911 does not work, so if you love to call 911 you are out of luck....For now =P

**Update 11/22/08**

To fix the annoying send and end sound import the registry file below and soft reset. I also now have the Jade Oem of this dialer which does not have the slide or locking part of the keypad. Drop it into your oem's in your kitchen and enjoy!

Cheers,

Mikee

i have been using it for about 2 1/2 weeks and it is a good dialer and there are skins for it too..., black, blue, crimson, gold and carbon:headbang: i use the crimson http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430768 and i used a cab that i believe i found here somewhere that fixes the ## codes and it all works like it should and the skins only change the portrait view but maybe someone else can finish even though it's no big deal because you seldom use the dialer in landscape:mrgreen: also Thanks to Kidnamedalbert for the dialer skins:mrgreen:

I love the look of the dialer but noticed a few things:

1. I can't accept or reject a call from the onscreen prompts. I can only use the actual hard buttons.

2. I miss having call history at the push of a button. This requires one extra press since you have to pull up the menu to get it.

3. It adds a bluetooth icon up top to show when bluetooth is on. I like this touch.

4. Why is this dialer so large? It seems to take up way more room than is typical.

Nice playing around with a new dialer. Thanks for posting.

i'm assuming it's the same one that i use and that's strange that yours isn't functioning well because mines is...when a call comes through i have a full screen that comes up instead of the small one that i hate and it has a slider to reject or answer it and it works for me without a hitch so maybe it's something else that you have installed that conflicts with it:(

If your slider doesn't work for accepting and rejecting a call, install this cab and copy the other files to the \windows folder.

The dialer is a memory hog but works really well. Fast smartdialing and love the slider that pops up to keep buttons from being pressed.

Ah ha - it works great - apparantly I'm just an idiot. I was trying to push the buttons. Didn't realize it was a slider. Now that I know what I'm doing it works great!

This is a really nice dialer! Thanks for the find. Before phone on my Titan wasn't pleasant to use, but now it makes using the phone very smooth.

And the history is accessible with one click to remove the number panel when you view calls in the menu. You can push up and down by fingers as well.

OK... this could be my choice of dialer... IF I can figure out one thing. On the dialer, where your last called #'s show. I know you can switch it to your speed dial... But how can I make the speed dial stay up there permanently? If I can get that... this might be a keeper. Can I change it in the registry?

Not sure what you mean by speed dial stay up there permanently. Click on menu speed dial and there you are. Can you be more specific.

Cheers,

Mikee

when I try to install this dialer for some reason i get a whole different dialer. it looks like the old mogul dialer with blue green and red buttons and gray background. I have tried 10 times with no luck. I am on the sprint rom. anybody know what to do to make this work. I really don't understand it. I tried to install it on my other touch with the a different rom it works. ?????:angry7:

We all have our own opinions. Personally I think that dialer you have screen shots has good points being the buttons are large and easy to use. But functionality wise it lacks smart dial when I used it. The opal dialer call history tabs and vibrates when going out which is useful to me.

Mikee

I couldn't agree more, best dialer I've ever used. I also like when someone calls you from a number not in your contacts, it asks you when the call is done if you wanna save it. priceless.

You need to wait a long time. It will come up with you need to restart when its removed.

Thanks Mikee, but I have done this several times, clicked on it to remove it completely and it stays there. I can't see any of the functions when I make a call just the white background. Annoying me because I like to use my speakerphone a lot. Any other suggestions for me? I do not really want to Hard reset. thank you](*,)

i agree with you, this dialer is beautiful, witht he gray skin OMG cant beat it. if you like the option where it asks you to save have you tried the touchduo dialer? also does that, not with so many options but it aint bad.

Thanks for the input. I will look into it. I do not use the battery icon however. Which battery meter are you referring too and does it not count down the battery life?

the battery meter on wdm 1.6 rom. it looks like stock but instead of 4 bars in the meter it has 6. Is there another option for battery power

Re: Opal/Jade Dialer Cab & Oem (Looks Just Like TP Dialer and Works Awesome)

Dang, this thing is a resource HOG!

Going back to my old diamond-theme dialer by poorlyduck. I like the features of this one (the bigger contacts ID pic, ask to save a new contact after the call, etc) but I personally didn't feel it was worth it (the answer slider has a delay and isn't smooth, more keypresses seem to be involved to get to certain buttons, the dialpad has more of a noticeable lag between press and tone, a good chunk of memory is missing, etc).

This would probably run GREAT on a device with a little more memory and CPU power... in other words, the real Opal.
