WM 6.1 ROM update error
I have an htc 6800 and i recently tried to update it with the alltel 6.1 rom update. I ran into some problems and now it says the device will not accept the update (it says the update is not for my device, but I know I am using the right one for my phone) and the program automatically ends. now my phone is stuck with the multicolored screen that showed up when trying to update the first time. i tried resetting the phone (hard and soft reset) but it would still end up at the same multicolored screen. what did i do, and can I fix it without having to send/take it to the store?
I'm running Vista and it's sync software to connect the phone to the PC. (Although it can't sync now that the phone is basically useless.) |
Re: WM 6.1 ROM update error
What bootloader are you using?

Re: WM 6.1 ROM update error
You may want to check out the "exit bootloader" thread here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9229
You should then be able to flash a stock ROM. |
Re: WM 6.1 ROM update error
Possibly removing battery & try the upgrade again?

Re: WM 6.1 ROM update error
I had tried removing the battery and retrying several times. I ended up taking it to the store since I was going by anyway. They just let me start a new contract and get a new phone. Thanks for the attempts at help though!

all u needed to do is flash an older rom 3.3x rom over usb. then flash the 6.1 rom using sd card method.
