Program to brick phone?

I have got stuck in the olipro 1.2 thing and tried everything in the world to no avail. I want to just go collect my insurance and say my phone won't come back on but I don't want them to get in bootloader and see I have been screwing with it. I have done everything your NOT supposed to do to brick this thing I can still run bootloader. Is there a program that will keep it from coming back on anywhere out there or does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

There is a way, to do just that. Install the the latest sprint rom, then install olipro 1.2 and that'll definitely brick ya phone, well technically it will only brick it for a gps radio. It will make your phone say no radio, I would highly advise you to back up all contacts and data though. U will not be able to access anything past the splash screen and your phone will not boot. U can take it in to a sprint store, they won't be able to load the official rom back onto your phone because it's not compatible with that version of olipro. Good Luck!

maybe you're stuck cuz you're using the wrong bootloader. if your rom is gps enabled, you need 2.40

if ur trying to brick..
yeah listen to toinejuan...lol. cuz u will basically downgrade the bootloader and then run one of the latest custom roms..that'll mess things up

I have followed everything to get out of bootloader with no progress lol. I mean like step by step to the tee and slight variations it is pretty hopeless. I have even went back and forth between 3.56 and 2.17 with olipro 1.2 installed and I can't even get this thing to brick it just gets stuck at the splash screen or the windows mobile screen. I was just worried that if I bring it into sprint and they see that olipro 1.20 is the bootloader they will not replace it for me.

unfortunately all you have to do to fix that is install a radio via the microSD...personal experience...twice. The first time was an accident, the second was curiosity. Oh, and my Mogul still works.

Someone suggested locking and flashing a stock ROM and pulling the plug before it completes.

I may be missing something...why do you want to get rid if the phone? Is it because of the olipro problem, or is there another reason?

I'm not trying to be nosy, but I think you can fix the olipro problems if you want to.

To brick phone:
1. Remove battery
2. Say goodbye
3. Microwave on high 30 seconds
4. walah!

I'm confused... doesn't insurance cover everything? I mean, it covers loss, theft, and damage. If it covers damage, why wouldn't it cover firmware damage?

I think he wants to walk in to a store with a bricked phone and walk out with another one, rather than going through insurance.

one way to easily get sprint to replace your phone is to try to load a default sprint rom. during the rom install unplug the cable. it will always go to boot loader and not leave.

if you want to brick a phone take the battery out then walk out to your car or any car and hook up a wire to both the pos and neg side of the battery then run the other end of the wires across the battery termanals... pooff red led light... :violent2: works also but if they open it up they will see the soder is burnt and might give ya hell...the battery trick works and only frys the chips or so i got told from my buddy that did that to get a touch a few months back

Wasn't there a way to brick the Mogul so its stuck in download mode? I can't remember how it was happening. Haven't heard much about it lately... Wasn't it from people trying to relock and going GPS?

Downgrading the Radio from GPS to Non-GPS was the 'brick' warning you're talkin about.

To briefly rehash this topic...the thing is that is it possible to downgrade but due to difference in physical location of the radio, the 3.X Radio will never be completely overwrote by a 1.X Radio, leaving behind some traces of code... which could cause problems (like download mode) and which could also never be noticed.

That being said, you can try to brick it, but good luck :D

Re: Program to brick phone?

I don't think we should condone things like this so i'll just comment that it is very possible to recover your phone from this condition using the stock 2.17 exe from sprint with radio. Use the SD card method referenced earlier. There is a danger as puff said about that bricking it, but its also quite possible that in this case it will be fine. For you either outcome should be ok as you want a brick, but i want you to at least be trying to fix not trying to brick. Give that a shot and i'm closing this thread, you can create a new one about how to "recover from 1.20 bootloader flash" if you decide to change your tone.
