upgrade problems

Ok, so I flashed to radio 3.42.50 w/o any issues. I cooked a rom (20270) last night and the cooking and flashing went fast and easy. I already knew to be prepared aobout the A Key and here is where my issue resides.

So after the ROM flashing I hard reset and tried to make a call. I got routed to some IVR to make only collect calls or calls my calling card with no live person available. Even trying 611 or *228 got me the same place. I dont have a landline at home so I looked online at VZW site and tried to re-activate the phone but it said it was already activated on that account. SO I waited until I got to work this morning and called VZW. They tried OTA programming which didnt take and then tried to get into the ESPT which it wouldnt access at all. So I stopped everything short right there before they came to thier own conclusions to give me some time to fix this.

So doesnt not being able to access ESPT have to do with 6.1 or the dialer skin? I forget which but can comeone please help because I cant use my 68 right now and its killing me.

If ##778 doesn't get you into the EPST menu try adding an additional # after it. Ex: ##778#. If that does not get you in go to file explorer/windows/epst and try it there. Yes it is a dialer thing that is causing it.

I thought it was the dialers that cause those issues and Im in the middle of flashing right now with a different dialer. I was using the Diamond dialer just FYI.

Try flashing with no dialer and it will put the stock dialer on. You can also look at the dialers Carlos made they are pretty nice. You can install them with a cab after you flash. I use the black one.

The steps they will have you go through quoted from my tutorial:
Quote:

Attention Verizon users: When you finish flashing you ROM you will need to call Verizon for a new Akey. This is caused by upgrading the Radio ROM to a GPS enabled radio. You will only have to do this once. If you ever flash a new radio it will not cause a problem as long as it is a GPS enabled radio. You just call VZW tech support and tell them you had to hard reset your phone and now when you make a phone call your phone says VZW cannot authenticate your phone. They will issue you a new AKey. They will walk you through putting the AKey in. The steps are dial ##778 and send(if it does not work don't panic try ##778#). It will ask for a code. Enter 000000. Select edit. Select the menu in the bottom left and choose Akey. On the next screen you will enter the new AKey that they provide.
